I am all for playing Tomlinson, he is the type of player whose value can only be effectively assessed in real game situations. We need to know what we have moving forward. Now is the time to evaluate and if they don't fit why continue to take up roster spots unless it is a situation where they need more time not a hey kid doesn't have scenario.

While we are at it how about Zach Evans? I would assume Zach just doesn't have a complete grasp of his role here or maybe he isn't as polished of a blocker as they thought he was

He's a super late 6th round pick. In his 2nd year.

I get the w/ arrest he pissed in everyone's mouths, and his penalties are annoying no doubt. But good grief he's played to his talent. I don't recall him being cooked or burned game after game. And he's gone through an absolute gauntlet of star WRs.

"a gauntlet of star wide recievers".... boy that aint no shit...

it's why it was so hard to replace him... he was getting it done ...even in last years shitty 10 yard cushion defense....

hey, dont get your panties in a bunch... i just keep rooting for the kid... he's a real football player that just need a little refinement..

but prolly won't get it here... sigh.....

So who's the next to get vent threads weekly?
I found myself yelling at Noteboom and Higbee more then anyone on Sunday. Higbee wiffed so badly on one particular block, its probably a meme by now. Not to mention, he dropped a couple passes and went to the sidelines after every play "injured". He's not a tough guy and he really isn't great anymore. I wouldn't advocate taking Bowers or anything, but I also wouldn't have advocated extending him either. And Boom? He just kinda stinks.

That block was bad I know the one you're talking about. Seems per Jourdan McVay talked about him dealing with a major hand issue lately. Giving him a bit of a break for now personally.

Boom has been a major let down, the injuries we all knew about. But in the Super Bowl run he put some damned good tape up at LT. Just never got back to there.

it's almost like he's playing not to get injured

And Higbee is actually McSnead's "in-season" extension. Got to say, at this point I have more faith in Snead than McVay.

Higbee has a mid pack cap hit and is a mid pack TE. Taking into consideration he is a vet outside of his rookie deal his value is fair comparatively. I think he is somewhere around # 13 or so by cap hit. He lacks consistency to a degree, whether it is scheme or that he seems to always be nicked I can't speculate.

Draft TE Tyler Warren from Penn state. He seems to be just what they wanted from Higbee

Noteboom was atrocious.

Kendrick has no control over his emotions. He could be great and still be a liability. He’s the anti-Courtland Finnegan. One of the biggest things we have all complained about was the lack of consistency from the team as a whole, with the exception of a few studs. Players were not consistently healthy. Players were not consistently good. Etc…Kendrick’s inconsistencies make him a huge liability. I’m ready to move on. Let him grow up with another team next year.

This team still is far enough away that it shouldn’t get bogged down with problems. They need to be on a constant search for bigger and better.

Higbee has been a HUGE disappointment this year. Lack of results in one thing but I’m seeing a lack of effort. We needed our few vets to lead the charge back to relevance.

What I dont get about the Higbee thing, is we traded and got Hunter Long and drafted a TE in Davis Allen.

I don't know why we haven't utilized them. I mean what was the point in drafting a TE like Davis Allen if not to coach him up and have him play a bit.

I thought I saw during the broadcast that Kendrick hurt his shoulder early in the game.
That was Durant. When he went out, Shelly came in.

In Nickel and Dime, the Rams went with Lake and Johnson.

Kendrick was in on just three defensive plays.

Well, Hunter Long has not yet been healthy enough to play.

He has been on short-term-IR all year and just began practicing a couple weeks ago.

He's been terrible since he got arrested. Dude's mind is not right, which is not exactly a surprise but either way it's a big difference vs how he played early in the season, which was not perfect by any means but effective in a lot of situations.
I see it this way as well.

I thought in early games that DK was competing his ass off and *sometimes* making plays and minimizing yardage... and with untimely penalties, to say the least.

But after the arrest his play dropped off a cliff. Just looked horrible ever time he was targeted.

As we've discussed a lot there aren't many options.

And yes I've talked about Hoecht and his limitations way too much. A few people were very unhappy with me about it in camp/preseason/draft. My feelings are very much public record about him. And you can put the ILB not named Ernest Jones in the same group.

I started to do a mock but truthfully I just don't know what to do with the picks after the top 2. There aren't a ton of Edges or CB available in free agency. I'm locked in LT and QB with the top 2 unless one of the QB's isn't there in the 2nd because I don't think we'll draft high enough for the top 2 and not a fan of most of the next 3 or 4 unless McCarthy declares. I want a RB and WR but I can't justify them until day 3 which limits them same with TE. These mock off seasons will be rough coming up. It's almost at the point I'm thinking a trade down might be in order.
Agree 100%.
QB and LT are paramount. After that, trading down in the 3rd (or even the 2nd if we could still nail a QB and LT) could provide the ammo to trade for a decent CB.

Edge: Young is balling out. This guy is gonna make a lotta noise. Having two above average Edge guys is a luxury, but essential if the Rams are gonna compete for a title. This is a draft possibility but I wouldn’t prioritize it above the QB and LT. Someone would just have to fall in our lap.

DL: Turner is another rookie steadily improving. With BB3 back, another big body in the rotation can be had on day 3 or a cut, whatever it takes.
…so maybe the Rams double down on the OL with their third pick in the draft and grab a RB later. I would not complain. This is not a championship OL and doubt it would be even if the Rams score on a LT. The Rams aren’t winning a SB with a rookie Quarterback in ‘24, so protecting Stafford has got to happen.
