Hope the running back room is K-Will, Corum, Hunter, and Connors. Love Hunter as a gunner and potential kick returner. Connors' tape just looks incredible, and it's not like it's just Houston's graduate tape; he excelled at Rice, when the team sucked more than almost any team in D1 Football (which saddens me because my aunt worked as a scorekeeper at Rice - I think it's her alma mater, but I'm not totally sure - before retiring).

Ladies and Gents allow me to introduce a new member of our RB room........................

Mr Poona Ford!!!!

In High School Poona was a 5'11" 275lb Stud. Dude had some pretty quick feet.
Video cued @ 2:12 with Stafford and Kyren on QB 1 on 1 series.
If I could start a petition that would be sent directly to McVay,
I would demand my rights as a 45yr Rams Maniac!!!!
Give me POONA in a Goal Line package. I want a simple I formation with
Kobie Turner at fullback 1 yard deep.
We are running it off the 2 hole right up K DOTS back to Pay Dirt!!:fistbump1::laugh2::dizzy:

Dean Connors

Houston
RB

Prospect Info

College
Houston
Hometown
Class
Kamuela, HI
Senior

Height
5'11"
Weight
206 lbs

Overview

Good tester with average size and steady production over the last three seasons. Connors typically gains what is blocked for him, but he can be indecisive without a clear entry point and lacks above-average elusiveness in space. Connors has decent burst once he hits the gas and builds to top speed quickly to eliminate tackle angles toward the perimeter. His receiving totals are primarily a function of leak-out catches and swing passes. Connors is steady and reliable but will need to carve out a clearly defined role to stick on an NFL roster.

Strengths

  • Showed good combination of speed and leaping ability at pro day.
  • Makes first- and second-level cuts without losing speed.
  • Able to hit his top speed quickly in the open field.
  • Keeps runs tight off the hips of blockers to maximize space.
  • Small catch radius but makes impressive adjustments to off-frame throws.

Weaknesses

  • Lacks suddenness in the early stages of the run.
  • Will dance and wait in search of clear points of entry.
  • Average wiggle in short spaces to elude defenders.
  • Takes time to hit it north/south on swings and screens.
  • Lacks functional anchor to block blitzing linebackers.

I been thinking that during the 2026 preseason games, the RB's should provide us some interesting observations.

Ron Rivers now entering his 5th season as our 3rd game day RB has reached his high point & there is nothing else to see here.

My desire would prefer that Rivers can be replaced by Jordan Waters/ Dean Connors or Jarquez Hunter as the game day 3rd RB in 2026.

This current RB roster room is as good as we have seen in well over a decade or more. Good Job by the Rams organization.

The injury risk alone worries me with Ford getting carries. When he went down last season we couldn't stop shit on the ground.
Of course I was only joking about Poona. You're right he's way too important to our run defense.
We have a RB who is very good at punching it in. Love the way Kyren runs in short yardage, his pad level
gets even lower and it so natural to him. Corum is also pretty good at the short yardage.

If Jarquez Hubter has put in the work this past year, then I fully expect him to be a strong third option.
He's a hard runner bouncing of defenders like a pinball.
He can run over people or run past them with his 4.4 speed. I'm a fan , and am hoping he gets some
opportunites to give Kyren and Blake some breathers.

I have a feeling he will be at some point. Runs a lot like Kyren. Quick and elusive with strength. But Corum is more explosive. More likely to break off that long TD run than Kyren.
Kyren is our back if we want to grind them to hell, and get 10-15 yards! If we want to change it up for that possible huge run, Corum is our guy! I like the tag-team 60-40 they been doing. Keep Kyren Fresh, and Let Corum work when K-will needs a breather. We have 2 Starting backs!

Kyren is explosive but not given credit for it at all. Corum has a High Top speed and gets there faster!

What I didnt like is if Kyren was red hot, tag him out with Corum. Corum red hot, tag him back out. Leave the guy in and let them eat til hes tired!

K-will is Top 10 in Multiple ALL-TIME categories for Rams now in only a few years in!

Let Hunter run KR/PR! We need help there in the worst way!

The only weakness I say is the short yardage plays. We rarely make those. Don't have a pounder than can get 1-2 yards when needed,

I was gonna say...the RB room would be more appreciated if the RBs didn't get stuffed so often.
...and I'm not saying it's the RB's fault.

Not how I remembered things so I looked it up. The Rams have been the highest ranked team in short yardage plays '22-'24 and were close to the top last year. So I'm not sure where this is coming from. Maybe the timing of some of those plays sticks in the memory bank more than others. I'm guessing the fans of many teams think the same.

Kyren has been a TD machine. That Thursday Night game still hurts. He finds a way to move the chains as well.
