Watched the Rams play the Bengals in the HOF game, 1st preseason game for 1988. Was so looking forward to a win post Dickerson but they lost 18-7. Recorded it too but later recorded over it since I don't keep most losses.

The 1988 SNF thrashing over the whiners was my favorite game that season. Playoff loss to the Vikes was a super letdown. An up and down season tarnished by the Bengals not being able to stop the whiners on that last SB drive. So it began and ended in disappointing fashion thanks to who they.

Loved John Robinson.
Back then. if they would had a decent front office he could have gotten the Rams a ring.
All of those extra picks and Greg Bell. He was a solid back but

I don't know what Gm was thinking seems like the missed on 95%
of all the extra picks the sad part is , he was not even fired.
Very frustrating years , front office completely unorganized
and under qualified

I wouldn't mind having a Damone Johnson type TE.
That guy was tackle breaking machine. A monster to bring down

When we think of the best TE’s in Ram history, Damone is often overlooked. It’s Higbee, Conwell, Truax, Holohan. Damone Johnson Was certainly top 10. Certainly before Mike Hoesyourmama or Brandon Manyoucantgetopen

This popped into my YouTube drip and I had to share. This takes me back. So many great rams, Ellard, Bell, Everett, Greene, Holohan, Gray, etc... .also, what's with the no win Novembers with these rams, haha

That was my first year playing fantasy football. No internet, all scoring done by box scores in the newspaper in the morning.

As a Ram Homer, I drafted Everett and Greg Bell in the final rounds and those two led me to a championship. Also had help from Eddie Brown, Mark Bavaro, Joe Morris, Steve Largent and some other names from yesteryear.

Had a scare in the playoff game when my opponent's RB -- Curt Warner -- the original one -- had 4 TDs. But survived that and won.

Try and find the video of Jim Everett discussing the pick in '86(?) that turned into Gaston Green. You will want to kill yourself.

He is still the only RB I've ever seen go down on a finger-tackle to the ankle.

13 picks in the top 4 rounds in two years, just 3 played more than 88 games in the NFL. S Anthony Newman (178 GP), LB Strickland (161), and Flipper (114). Another, taken in the 5th (James Washington 114 G), won a ring but with Dallas.

Seriously has to be some kind of record. Wrong pick after wrong pick.
We managed to get a few average players or busts.

Yeah, I thought Brian Smith was going to be a beast. He was a 6'6' 250 lb OLB out of Auburn... 2nd rd pick. Never did a thing...was as average as his name.

Hawkins tore up his knee in his rookie preseason. Never seemed to recover from it.

Frank Stams was average at best.

Darryl Henley is still in jail I believe.

Aaron Cox had his moments, but basically a Tu Tu Atwell type...just too small.

Gaston Green couldn't break a tackle.

Cleveland Gary couldn't hold onto a football.

What a disappointing mess.

They did have some late round role players/contributors that helped get them to the NFCCG in 89'. Guys like Robert Delpino, George Bethune, Mark Messner, Michael Stewart, and Mike Piel, but it was a missed opportunity.

I loved those teams in the late eighties. I do wish the Rams could have kept Dickerson and somehow had a balance of the late eighties passing attack, and the dominant running of that ‘84-’87 team.

I never understood why they couldn’t coexist. I know, I know- that blonde with the pony tail would not pay ED. Too bad we missed a window that could have threw a bucket of cold water on that Niner decade of dominance.
Its odd she would not pay ED as listening to her speak could cause ED....

I liked Strickland though he didn't become a star.

Could you imagine what McSnead could do with a haul like that?!

“Henley is currently serving a 41-year prison sentence for trafficking cocaine and attempting to murder the judge and a witness from his trial by hiring contract killers.” Sheesh…!
