Here's one that jumps out at me:

Average Air Yards/Attempt & Average Air Yards/Completion:

Jared Goff (2020): 6.2/attempt, 4.9/completion
Matthew Stafford (Week 1): 8.8/attempt, 9.1/completion

Welcome back, big play offense!
Goff had to throw to Hockenson about 40 times that game (okay I exaggerated) but he did have to throw to his TE and RBs 30 times.

His WRs just were not getting open downfield from what I saw (damn the no all 22)

The Goff stats were from last year with the Rams, not last week with the Lions.

Having Stafford will open up the run game big time, IMO. I know it didn’t happen until late in the game last week, but I think stats like these will only help improve the ground game.
Excellent point and I was thinking the same. Defenses will be forced to try to stop our passing game first
run defense will be secondary.

Stafford had 331 passing yards on just 26 pass attempts.

So his yards-per-attempt had to be over ten.

If I'm not mistaken his 12.3 yds per pass completion was highest of anyone in week 1.
I think the 12.3 was yards-per-pass-attempt.

331 passing yards off just 20 completions would make his yards-per-completion more than 16!

It was 321 yards (think that accounted for the sack)

321yds/26 attempts = 12.3yds per attempt.

321yds/20 completions = 16.05yds per completion

When you look at the efficiency of this offense, especially the passing game, it was outrageously good.

Does anyone read before responding?

Air yards/attempt and yards/attempt are very different stats. The latter includes YAC, so it’s not necessarily indicative of deeper passes.

Last year we needed the run game to open up the pass game. This year the pass game will open up the run game.

Both can help the other. I just hope that when Michel gets the offense down he adds that power element. That would really set this team up.

Matthew will convert every receiver on the Horns into a legitimate Captain YAC. This will result in a similar effect on our RBs. The opposing defenses will have to choose their own poison. What Matt told Kelly is dead accurate: this season is definitely going to be fun! The question is: will the Leprechaun's new Lucky Charms offense outshine the Greatest Show on Turf?

I mean the thread is called stat of the week, I can see how people would have mixed it up thinking it was only week 1.
