You guys got it all wrong. They wanted Wolford to help tank the season for Caleb Williams or Drake Maye. They wouldn't have to screw up the play calling to achieve that if Wolford starts the rest of the season.

The NFL would have automatically given us an extra loss just for being dumb enough to sign Wolford if it did happen

Sorry man but Wolford is fucking garbage. Could give 2 shits that he knows the offense. Its like keeping Bobby Evans because he knows the offense. Just because a coach is paid millions doesn't mean he won't do stupid shit.
I'm sorry. Did I not state "Wolford while not being a good QB" . I understand your response but don't bend the truth, so you can project yours. Whoever we get it's a one week rental. You're trying to project the rest of the season based on who we get.... I don't want Wolford myself. He has a weak arm compared to Stafford. Weak arms rarely go far in the NFL. But as I stated, it's 1 week and then we're on bye.

Trust me, I get what you are saying and I'm not bending anything to get my point across. Wolford is fucking trash whether its 1 play, 1 quarter, 1 week, practice squad, etc. He has no fuckin business on an NFL roster let alone ours. There are better QBs that admittedly would run a condensed version of McVay's offense, but even that would be a million times better than Wolford. I'm just happy that the Bucs stopped McVay from an idiotic decision.

I'm not following the logic. The Rams look desperate and pathetic for trying to sign a QB off another teams PS, yet its perfectly fine to bring back a RB who was out of the league?
The difference between the QB position and the RB position is vast. A RB can roll out of bed and get you 40+ rushing yards. A QB who only rolls out of bed, can get you 3 pick 6's.

If they sign Luis Perez, I will freaking die. Come on Rams, put your big boy pants on and make a deal for a viable backup QB that can play over that weak armed turf throwing Brett Rypien. Also Mark Rypien played in the NFL for years, how come everyone seems to have trouble pronouncing Brett Rypien' s surname?
But, Luis Perez is the GOAT of the XFL. What's not to like about that?

Sign Brett’s uncle.
I'd say, sign Angela Rypien: [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brett_Rypien]
Rypien is the nephew of former NFL quarterback Mark Rypien, the cousin of former LFL quarterback Angela Rypien,

I’m convinced now that we won’t be drafting a QB high as long as McVay is the coach. He does not seem to have the patience to develop a young QB. We’ll be going after the veteran established QBs in the mold of the Staffords, Cousins, etc type guys.

The allure of Wolf is they wouldn't need to do shit in terms of adjusting the playbook or gameplan. He can get the team in and out of the huddle and be a game manager, well, up until he runs into a DT and gets another concussion.

But they can tank with any castoff QB. Wolf just would have made it easy on the staff.

Have to think they'd at least bring Wentz in to see where he's at mentally and maybe work him out. They shouldn't be the team following the league QB groupthink. They should be the team thinking out of the box at the position.

Wentz is the Jeff George of the NFL these days but without the arm strength.

I could give a fuck about arm strength. But I'm sure he's got enough, since he's always had a good arm.

Key is whether he's mentally ready to grind week to week and prepare for each opponent. He knows the scheme for the most part, would just need to get the protections down if that. But I recognize the guy is out of the league for a reason. I just think at this point the Rams should be flipping over every rock, to include rocks that NFL groupthink believe have nothing underneath them.

The league at large is a copycat bunch who sometimes don't do their due diligence. So make a list of guys who have played in the WCO to include guys the league has written off and bring them in for workouts and sitdowns with the staff. And see if anything surprises you.

But hear me out... what if Wentz is a bad QB? It has been repeatedly reported that he's stubborn, won't take coaching and doesn't want to change how he plays QB (which once he got his ACL injury, he could never play the way he used to do in that backyard run around style).

What's more likely, that groupthink has sunk him or that his body of work which is available for anyone to see is shitty?

Good or quality QBs simply are not easily and readily available for the taking at this point in the season. You’re basically looking for a warm body to be an emergency guy in case both staff and Ryp get hurt and can’t go. So you’re not going mid game to a WR/RB/punter who was a former HS QB.

He has been a bad QB. Doesn't mean I wouldn't flip that rock over on him and some others. Corral for example. I don't care if people laugh or make memes about it either.

It's no worse though than chasing these shitter talents who are smart but limited. Why not cast a wide net.
