No broken bones for Stafford. Could be a ligament issue similar to what Goff had a few years ago.

This may encourage the NFL to move toward the padded helmets. They are legal equipment in youth and HS.
If you watch the replay in slow mo, you can actually see that his thumb gets trapped in a facemask and that is likely where most of the damage took place.

well goff had a broken thumb and played... so i have a feeling he may be able to play with this

well they have to have another qb available.. so it makes sense to have one that at least knows the plays even if he isnt good.
what good does it do if he knows the offense but isn't any good? Mayfield didn't know the offense, and at least he made us somewhat competitive. How about Wentz?:
