On that play, Stafford as a veteran should have felt the pressure and gotten the ball out at the 6.5 second mark. The guy closest to Stafford on the left was open and starting to turn at that point.

It just seemed that Stafford's timing with the receivers was off all game last night. That interception when he threw to Higbee appeared to be a miscommunication error since Higbee went one way and the ball went another way.

I got up at 4 am to watch this shit show. Just after 5 am I set off the smoke detector burning some toast and waking the wife and hounds.

I said to her then: We're getting hammered.

She asked what the score was and I replied 10-10.

She rolled her eyes and went back to bed.

But I honestly thought that.

I didn't expect anything other than they were going to pull away.

I think McVay suspected something too because I thought going for that 4th and 2 was ridiculous so early in the game.
Yeah we were in that game due to turnovers in the first half. Without them this thing is ugly

.

that makes me feel much better about arob.

something for mcvay to work on. it's so easy to get infatuated with kupp on the field. goff loved throwing to him as well.

but you gotta use everyone. for kupp's sake as well so he can have some breathing room.

.
He's gonna figure it out one way or another. Teams are not gonna give him Kupp unless they have to

Stafford and Robinson didn't have a lot of time to build chemistry. That's going to matter a lot when the OL isn't holding up. Stafford is going to go to the guys he trusts when under pressure. Give it time.
He was wide open left and right tonight. But hard for Stafford to go through progressions when the OL get absolutely shit on. I bet it was hard for Whit to sit and watch that OL performance.

Yes we do know it. McVay knows it. Stafford knows it. Coen knows it. The mailman knows it. It's just gonna take a back seat to sorting those protections.

Fear on the mind will do that
Okay so the common theme is the offensive line, which seems very apparent. Guess I was just waiting on an adjustment that didn't come. Also the Woods situation from last year has me a little wary to start.

I hate to say it, but that sack is partially on Stafford. You have to help out your LT when he's against Miller and has help to the inside. Climb the pocket, make it harder on Miller to turn the corner, and give Edwards a chance to blast Miller. Granted, Noteboom whiffed on him (great move by Miller), but Stafford could have done more to help. That all said, most of the sacks were on the OL.

Think I missed this, not sure what you are referring to here?
I was at the second game of the season where I and some other posters (which admittedly it might have been a different forum) noticed that Robert Woods looked a little dejected. The Cardinals game in week 4 Robert Woods continued to not be targeted and got a touchdown late in the game and just threw the ball and walked away. Then reports came out that he went to Mcvay and said that he needed to be more involved in the offense and that was when he ended up with 120 yards against the seahawks.

I just feel like Stafford is a bit of a known quantity now. If you fix the shit around him he will settle in with his weapons. So you are absolutely right that it is a concern but they have to go bottom of that pyramid and fix the protections. Fix the run game. Fix the shit special teams. Etc. When there is no run game and no time on most pass plays all the higher function stuff is dependent on them unfucking the basics.

This is a scary result. I didn't expect to receive an ass kicking in every aspect of all three phases. So a lot to fix. Of course I have the highest trust in McVay so not too worried but that was the kind of shit that makes me envision full pad practices and some hard decisions on the depth chart.

Every breakdown of a play I've seen has Robinson open. I KNOW that if Kupp were running the same route, it's a completion. But Stafford doesn't trust that ARob will be there. All these are timing routes and sacks happened due to OL play, but MOSTLY because Stafford doesn't trust ARob yet, so is holding the ball too long.

The only good news is this is an easy solution. Get comfortable. QUICK.

The Bills went all-in on Kupp, and he still got his, because Stafford kept forcing it in there. Imagine if he spread it out and gave ARob some love?

Maybe there is some dynamic in practice that we're not privy to, but I'm sincerely hoping it's not the Woods situation, Part 2.

Gotcha, remember that now. or at least the report he had met with McVay. I didn't consider that something that really meant anything other than Woods being frustrated in general and not at anything or anyone particular. Either way, there were opportunities for Robinson out there last night that just wasn't able to cash in on. I think he'll be eating soon enough.

Yeah they were 3-1 so I dunno what he could've been upset about other than his own lack of involvement. Even in the high flying game against the Bucs it was basically just Kupp and a few splash plays from desean Jackson. But yeah I think we just have to give it time.

Because you put the cart in front of the horse. Protections always come first.
Bingo. The front end and the back end work together on a defense. Stafford was getting crushed and so he went to his "go to" receiver in a crunch. If the Oline gave him time, he'd "see" Allan Robinson more. If we don't find an answer for the Oline, we are screwed this year.

Just some random thoughts on our offense.

We run to many empty and 4 wide sets for the talent we have on oline.

TuTu is going to end up one the worst picks in McSnead era. He in no way
fits our WR criteria.

I personally would rather have Powell as WR3 than Skow and tutu.

They played a lot of cover 2 type defense on Robinsons side of the field
which I would think would be a perfect situation to take at least one shot
downfield and let Robinson do what he is best at and that is 50/50 balls.

I am in 100% agreeance with the Kupp tunnel vision. It's something that
I didn't want to see and if it continues, Kupp will end up on the sideline
with an injury.

I miss the tight bunch sets with misdirection runs , jet sweeps and play action pass.
I think these sets are easier on the oline and more productive in the run and pass game.
