I'm confused by the contract negotiations here. His current contract is through 2026 but his new deal will also put him on the rams for 2026? Is it just a raise then?

And likely a contract for 2027 as well. He will be re-assessing pretty much every year from here on out - he is under contract for this season already but its not like he is choosing who to sign with - he is choosing whether he wants to suit up again.

If he is telling them he is playing more than one year, then don't be shocked if they draft an OT or OG in rd 1. Protecting Stafford will always be priority one. At the very least 61 could be an OL if they go weapon in rd1.

I presume so. He barely agreed to play last year with us, according to rumors needing to eject everyone but him and McVay to come to an understanding. Which I don't think included a pay raise. So makes sense that after the MVP season that's the plan.
