1949-1955(4 NFL championship games) - Norm Van Brocklin
I suppose Bob Waterfield had Nothing to do with this!!? And Bob's Number #7 is Retired! Norm's #11 isn't! Van Brocklin had a Big part of his Career with The Eagles!
And by the way, as far as Rams QB's go, Jim Everett Owns the Passing Record with 23,758 yards!

Tough to choose just 4 but I like the way @tempests did it. Van Brocklin gets the nod for me as the best Rams QB ever so he has to be there Deacon maybe the best Dlineman of all time at least in the discussion, for me I can't leave ED off the list he still holds the single season rushing record but that fourth one??
Man there are just so many to choose from Warner go the ring with a lot of help from some great players but he just wasn't around long enough, Marshall amazing talent, Hirch, Fears, Olsen, Waterfield, Youngblood, Hacksaw, Gabriel, Snow, Ike, Dryer, Holt, OP, Tom Mack, George Allen, Jackie Slater

One Notable Hall of Famer Missing Off your List " And a Big one!" Rosey Grier!!

Then you should list the players that are. SJ, Holt, and Bruce don't make it for me.

Neither of those things is true for me. I don't want to start a thing here, but you're being condescending when you say that. Because I believe Kurt has a real good case to be up there, doesn't mean I'm ignorant of LA Ram history.

Take it into account, but don't make it the determining factor.

**********************************************************

It occurs to me I haven't put my Ram Rushmore up yet. I believe the players who best represented what the Rams were about at the most significant points in their history should be up there.

1949-1955(4 NFL championship games) - Norm Van Brocklin
1966-1970 (George Allen era)- Deacon Jones
1973-1979 (seven consecutive division championships)- Jack Youngblood
1999-2003 (Greatest Show On Turf) - Kurt Warner

Was not my intention to be condescending.

But anyone that would put Warner over Bruce, could not be taken seriously.

When doing these rushmores, it's simple for me: the 4 best players that ever played for the team. Kurt isn't even close in this conversation. Mashall made the GSOT tick, not Kurt. This has been talked about several times by players and coaches over the years. Marshall was the best player on those teams.

But all that is just opinion obviously. My criteria that would eliminate Kurt even if he was one of the 4 best are that he only had 3 good seasons, and he played for another team longer than he did the Rams. This same criteria eliminates Dickerson for me, and he was a MUCH better player than Kurt Warner for the Rams.

Deacon Jones is the best DE of all time.

Merlin Olsen is a top 5, maybe top 3 DT all time.

Marshall Faulk is a top 5 RB of all time, could be argued that he's the best all around back to ever play the game.

Bruce is a top 5 WR all time.

Kurt might not even be a top 20 QB all time. I'm not hating on Kurt - he was a great player - but putting him on a Rams rushmore is a disservice to the other Ram greats.

I'd have to replace Warner or Jackie Slater with Jack Youngblood. It would probably be Slater because you can't leave off the guy who QB'd your team to 2 Superbowls!!! Or make it a 5 headed Mt. Rushmore.

Deacon / What needs to be said? He is definitely one of the 4 (or 5; or 3 LOL)

Marshall / Again, what needs to be said? The best offensive weapon to play in the NFL. A coach on the field.

Slater / Only one of the best RT's to ever play the game

Warner / He Quarterbacks two teams to 3 Superbowls after stocking shelve at the Hy-Vee?

Jack Youngblood / The heart and soul of one of the nastiest defenses of the 70's; a decade when nasty defenses were the norm.

Is it just me and my homerism, or do the RAMS have several more legendary players than most other teams?

The only other team that comes close (without research) is the Bears.
Assuming you base it on hof guys, the rams are 9th...not the top, but upper third , played for not drafted..thus slightly different from above chart

Just looking at length of service in horns:

Slater 20, Olsen 15, Youngblood 14, Mack 13, Deacon 11.....that's a pretty good mount rushmore.

Van Brocklin, Fears, Richter and Hirsch with 9. Waterfield and Faulk with 8.

Warner and E.D. with 5 each.

In that group of Great Players player who had "9" Years on the Team you can add Jack 'Hack-Saw' Reynolds!

Oh you can add more than just Hacksaw. Doug Smith (undrafted) played 14 years with 6 pro bowls. Rich Saul played 12 years with 6 pro bowls. I was listing the tenure of HOF players from the Rams (and Warner who everybody seems to include on Mt. Ramsmore). Throw in Ken Iman (65-74) and the Rams had 3 solid OC from 1965-1991. All I can say is "come on Barrett Jones; bring back some memories!"

I think you would have a difficult time convincing non-Rams fans that Bruce is a top 5 WR. Just out of curiosity, I looked up some lists.

BR has him at #10: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1466511-top-10-nfl-wide-receivers-of-all-time/page/3

Ranker has him at #13: http://www.ranker.com/crowdranked-list/best-wide-receivers-of-all-time

.

That is pretty condescending actually. These boards are to encourage discussion, not insult and put down others opinions...if your opinion is that you can't respect others opinions....just keep it to yourself...

I just can't do a rushmore for the Rams, no matter how you stack it someone's gettin jobbed. I mean the Rams have 3 DL alone that warrant it in Jones/Olsen/Youngblood. From there OL, RBs... Nah, been trying to do one with some semblance of fairness but it isn't possible.
