The only way they could trade Gurley is like how they traded Peters. By also throwing in picks.

I’m still questioning his ability from back when CJ Anderson was a Ram.
So you mean against the Saints and Patriots, when their game plan was to stop the run and make us beat them with Goff? CJ wasnt great in those games either. Against the Saints, he had some blunders early on, but I'm sure he would have performed if we kept feeding him and allowed him to settle. It was on the road and noisy with all their whistles.

I think you are talking about Aqib Talib. "The Ravens have acquired two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Marcus Peters in a trade with the Los Angeles Rams, landing one of the NFL's most talented corners who is just 26 years old. In exchange for Peters, the Ravens have sent inside linebacker Kenny Young to the Rams, along with an undisclosed pick in the 2020 NFL Draft"

I know its just an opinion but reading this thread title kind of pisses me off every time I log on. It somehow looks as if its our official position or as if it already happened.

Not sure why this one gets under my skin. It's a me problem but it's obnoxious all the same.

it’s an Opinion to Trade Todd Gurley. It’s said it can’t happen ?? I see it still getting printed from 3 different articles of wanting to Trade Todd Gurley as well.
I think it is best to move on if possible.
weather it happens or not is another thing. I guess we have to wait until March 18 for any trades if that helps you knowing that nothing is goin to happen until then.

Your going to put blinders on. Those dark out curtains work nice, but sometimes it’s brighter on the other side.
I like Todd Gurley , but have thought this would be a good move, only because of the cap.
I think your the one with the blinders on. With the amount of return to money still spent towards the cap even trading him it makes zero sense to trade him this year. Zero. None. Especially creating a hole which we’ll need to fill with somebody who there is a good chance we can’t get as much a consistent player.

Fix the line and Gurley will get 20 TDs next season. Don’t, he gets 10 with 800 yards. Fix the line and Henderson has breakout potential. He just needs a hole.

I really wish we would wait for more than one year before feeling like we need to throw people away.

The problem in 2019 was that the rest of the RB room failed to live up to the "carry count" of 15 the Rams obviously had for him. Which goes back to the OL as well as the quality of the RB room depth.

Had the OL and RB room been capable of executing the team's plan, we wouldn't have seen as much a dip in offensive potency with Gurley being "saved" for the playoffs. In other words, IMO there was nothing wrong with the plan, the problem was the players and maybe a bit of the staff not being up to snuff.

Fast forward to this season and understanding that there is zero benefit to moving Todd now, I can say again with 100% confidence that IF they move him it will be because he was a distraction or problem behind the scenes. Failing that, there is zero reason to move him.

Projecting the offseason outside of Gurley, we can rest assured that improving the OL and RB room will be on the table. The run game is critical in McVay's offense with the way everything is married together and works off each other. IMO there will be new blood on the roster at both position groups.

I doubt another team actually trades for him.
I don't see Gurley's representation allowing him to take a pay cut.

I'm going to go with the Lasorda approach -- Gurley's going to be on the roster and he's going to be paid a lot of money. Use Gurley until his leg falls off. If Gurley lasts the season, great! If he goes out week 2, next man up. Either way, use his ass, a lot - RB, TE, slot receiver, full back, new get-back coach, w/e.

well if history shows us anything and hopefully all of us are smart enough to realize what we did with Gurely this year wont work next year. He's still a decent RB but the Rams can't afford to pay him 14 mil a year and the team cannot afford to have him sitting on the bench half of the game because the Rams are scared he might get a booboo. This is football, it's a contact sport, if he can't lace it up, he has to go. It's a business and the longer we hold on to him the easier it's going to be for the rams to slip into mediocrity.

I doubt the RAms can trade him, not team will take on his salary. A team might bite if we cover half of his salary which will help free up some cap room, but I doubt it.
I expect the Rams to either draft another RB or get one in FA. Henerson, IMO can be the bellcow but McVay has had trouble getting his young RB's up to speed in the past.

Dude this video literally has NOTHING informative than is different with any other player on our roster. Evaluation like this happens for EVERY player on the roster on how the can contribute and what their salary dictates.

MCSnead and their teams are working overtime right now before final decisions have to be made next month. Speculation one way or another is meaningless this time of year just like mock drafts are.
