Sean McVay pushup challenge

I can do that. I do 30 push ups, rest a minute and do 3 more sets. Just have to cut the rest down on the last set.

Holy shit. I could barely do girl pushups when I was healthy. All those pushups in four minutes? Forget it. No. Nope. Just...no.

When I was in the Army I'd do a 50 pushups in 5 minutes thing with my guys. Everyone would think it's super easy because shit, but the idea was that I would make them be in that pushup stance the entire 5 minutes. It wasn't a go at your own pace thing, I controlled it, and by minute 3, everyone had shaky arms, I loved it.
 
I’m delusional lol. I tried it and only got to 72 before my arms gave up. 35, 25 and 12 reps. It’s a good measuring stick though. I’ll try it again in a day or two.

That's still better than most people, you'll probably get up there pretty quick, only another 30 left

Back when I was in shape, I could make a respectable effort, but I'd come up short. Right now, no chance lol.

Also, that's a really good workout, and I would highly suggest anyone who can do it to do it. I might incorporate that into my morning routine actually since it doesn't take too long.

Man, I can do better than that, and I’ve had two major spinal operations. Always been able to do push ups, nothing else, now, but still push ups.

My CC used to do that when he would bust our asses. I can still hear that lil Philippino ball of razors calling "DOWN.... *an eternity later with him screaming "Don't you touch my deck!! Don't you quit. Keep your nasty chest of my deck!!" Which, by the way, with a Philippino accent... is rather laugh inducing... presuming you aren't in a PT meant to nearly kill you... then... "UP!!!"

We'd audibly gasp and lock out, dreading the next "DOWN!!!"

I swear, I still get a lil anxious when I hear "Pushup position, HUT!!!" thanks to a particular 3 hour wrecking that left every part of me that could move...shaking.

To add insult to injury, they called ahead to the chow hall, pulled all the knives and spoons and ONLY served us peas. None of us had ever heard of mashing the peas, so we all basically were going hungry when one guy just dropped his face onto his tray. That did it. Our CC kicked us out and we went without that night... Some of us at least got a pea or two. The guys who hadn't even gotten a tray were even more pissed...

I'm not a big guy but a good arm workout I do....
- two dumb bells (I use 30lb'ers) and do as many standing curls as you can in 30 seconds
- as soon as the curls are done, drop and do as many push-ups as you can in 30 seconds
- rest 30 seconds
repeat 5 times. Have to make sure you use good form as well...no swinging the weights or sagging your back. If you're honest about it and not pacing yourself, it kicks your ass
 
I hope Altman isn’t the guy they portray him to be on that show cuz he’s kind of a douche and I’d hate to think of McVay as a douche by association.

Seems like the type of guy who makes dad jokes, but bought ribs and brought them in. Dad card needs to be on probation.
