I would use Austin ALL DAY on sweeps, reverses, screens, double reverses.... with a heavy dose of Malcolm Brown, complimented by the occaisional PA bomb to Reynolds or Thomas...

If our O-line can shock everyone and be ok, AND Ficken does much better?
I totally think we could win.

Brandon Allen is on IR don’t need a backup that’s not healthy.
I think they put him on IR because they didn't want to risk putting him on the PS.

I mean seriously, he would have to be really clumsy to hurt himself in practice.

That's one of the reasons I figure they must like him. ( not risking losing him on the practice squad )

Honestly, I think that the Rams woulda had a fight on their hands if McVay had decided to go with his starters.

I think the starters woulda won, mind you, but it wouldn’t have been all that easy.

Niners are improved, now have a legit QB, and have confidence in themselves.

Given all the Ram starters that will be sitting, I definitely don’t like the Rams chances. Remember, each missing starter compounds the problem by adding additional stress on the few remaining starters that are playing. And we’re gonna have 7 held out on O alone, aren’t we? At least 5 more on D?

C’mon...

Mannion, keep in mind, is from the Bay Area as well. As a matter of fact:

Distance from Goffs home town to Levi Stadium....73 miles.
Distance from Mannions home town to Levi Stadium.....28 miles.

Think he wants to do well and win this thing?

Good point. Besides that.

I think he will show lots of improvement just being coached. We will see though. I am confident this won't be the same Mannion under the stank regime.

What ?

We got this.

Does Mannion still hold the PAC-12 career passing record? I think Mannion is going to surprise some people outside of the Rams locker room. He has the arm talent and I am curious what McVay and the rest of the O staff has been able to do to speed up Mannions release and decision making. Could be a breakout game for Reynolds or Thomas, Mannion and Reynolds hooked up a few times in preseason. It will all come down to the LOS on both sides, time to find out what kind of depth we have going into next season. Because after this week, its all house money. Nobody expected the Rams to make the playoffs this year, except the Rams and some of us fans here at ROD.

This may be the perfect stage to show SM as a starter and get some good trade offers from multiple QB starved teams. Use the draft pick(s) to complete the D and draft a mid rd QB to groom as the backup to Goff.

But if they do lose the the whiners they will have to go 12-4 next season, because that is my prediction for their record every year until I am right.

I hate the whiners so much, unless we win the Super Bowl, I would rather have our starters in the line up to kick the **!@ out of the whiners this week.

But I can't argue too hard, given McVay's huge success.

:yay:

Time for Mannion to make the rest of you suckas believers!! The Mannion hype train is boarding ALLLLLLLLLL. ABBBBBBBBOARDDDDDDD!!!!!

Now that I've settled in to the idea that the starters are being rested, I am excited to see what Mannion can do.
If he plays great, it puts the Rams in great position for trade value.
However on the other hand, he will have the deck stacked against him since he wont be playing with a lot of the 1's, so it may be unfair to be critical.

I think he's gonna knock it out of the park, and will beat the 49ers

I hope we can Scott Mitchell the shit out of him trade wise! Just takes 1 team to full for him

Given Havenstein’s knee sprain a couple weeks ago I bet Lucas will get some reps.

So the O-line might be Williams-Neary-Blythe-Brown-Lucas.

And no Gurley, no Kupp.

Yet Mannion’s gonna “tear it up?” Really? The point of this game is to emerge injury-free and not give anything away regarding game planning, and that’s about it.
