Good sound track. I had it on CD back in the day.Didn't watch it recently but back then yeah I watched it most everybody then did.
Do you remember how badly the “replacement refs” were? They have zero leverage. The NFL won't back them, the teams will not back them, and the fans don't care. The NFL will be looking for new refs as early as May I would expect. Just to keep the pressure on.
Most refs are already lawyers or other high profile professions as their regular jobs. I don't think any of the refs are not "rich" by the average joes standards. I think if a ref has a gambling problem a few hundred grand more isn't going to tempt them from their disease. With everyone around them being millionaires.. the refs need to be paid more. Not because they deserve it.. but with legal gambling they need to remove the temptation to influence games.
weird how the season changed when he opened his mouth. I don't fucking care that he was right.Puka was not wrong.
I know you are just playing but that is not a chick flick.just playing.

Well if they are hired in May, maybe they will get trained in time for SeptemberDo you remember how badly the “replacement refs” were?
I sure do
Yes, I do, dieter. They were horrible, but these guys have nothing going for them. They do not have the leverage in this new deal. It's not the fact that we will have "replacement" refs, the refs we have now do not want the "eye in the sky" looking over their shoulders. If the NFL implements this after a holdout, it will be here to stay.Do you remember how badly the “replacement refs” were?
I sure do
I care. No problem is insurmountable, even horrible NFL refereeing. If MLB can fix blind umpiring (yes, I love the new ABS and always hated biased umps), then this can be solved.Who cares. Everyone will hate the regular refs, the replacement refs, the refs in the booth, the refs in New York. The most pointless thing to worry about is the refs.
Agreed. Make them full time and teach them the finer points of the rule book and how to consistently call the games. The lack of consistency is becoming a distraction. Most refs are already lawyers or other high profile professions as their regular jobs. I don't think any of the refs are not "rich" by the average joes standards. I think if a ref has a gambling problem a few hundred grand more isn't going to tempt them from their disease.
I just want better training and the NFL to uncomplicate their rule book. If the refs want to be paid so much more than I would require them to make it their full time jobs during the season with dedicated trainings between their weekly games to go over film and through offseason on rule changes and cleaning up stuff.
Unfortunately just bringing in new bodies has been shown to not work well in the past. Where would they come from? College Division 1 and 2 refs aren't going to scab. They would basically slit their own professional throats if they have NFL aspirations. Division 3 and High school refs maybe, but the quality will be crap. The refs union knows all this which is why they have, I believe, more leverage in the collective bargaining. They have zero leverage. The NFL won't back them, the teams will not back them, and the fans don't care. The NFL will be looking for new refs as early as May I would expect. Just to keep the pressure on.
