This is my biggest concern too.

Whittington isn’t a #3. Sorry. He’s just not.

Mumpfield I duuno.

Daniels is a ? for sure.

I expect the Rams to nab a June cut or in season trade for WR. 13p is exciting but if we lose Puka or Adams we are WEAK at WR.

I think CJ can eventually be the #3, but I'm not sure about his impact as a rookie.

Then again, because McVay drafted him, he might have more talent than we think. We know our HC has a talent for finding these guys later on in the draft.

I think you’re going to be surprised by Max Klare. He is like a Ben Sko on steroids. Ferguson as well is going to be very much improved.

IMO Mcvay is comfortable with Tge Rams at WR/TE right now.I also think your selling Mumpfield & Whittington a little short. Maybe he isn’t a True #3 ,but he can hold his own if needed.

If anyone’s #1 WR goes down it hurts. Cinncy has had that problem, but still it more than that with them. In 2024 Kupp was hurt & Puka went down against Detroit. It was a little much for Jordan.Same with Konata who this last season was put in big time moments. Just think there is a lot of growth & upside with The Rams Offense.

Hate to say I wasn’t The Biggest Mike Lafleur Fan.That in itself will be interesting to see how The Rams Offense evolves & what Lafleur can do in Arizona ?

LOL - Puka & Davonte are both Free Agents !! Just saying -I will say CJ against Indiana put on a little show,or at least some Grit not to quit.

Rams know what they have in Whitt and XSmith. Mumpfield may be a contributor early in the season but will require another year to find out where he fits. CJ is a wild card that will not likely contribute until the end of this year at best.

Yeah, we might have one of the best duo's in the league, but if one goes down things get iffy. But how important is it if they use personnel 13 even more? They certainly have the tight ends to make it work. Heck, they can use 3 tight ends and line them up like 11 personnel.

Let us not forget the four WR's they kept on the practice squad last season and signed to the roster this season. All of them showed something last year in preseason in Brennan Presley, Tru Edwards & Mario Williams. Tyler Scott was added later, who was a 4th round pick of the Chicago Bears back in 2023 draft, ran a 4.44 at the combine and has run in the 4.3's so could add a deep threat option too.

CJ Daniels isn't your average rookie in terms of seasoning. He's played 6 years of college ball essentially. I do think that was something that our front office actually liked and it leads me to believe he will contribute as a rookie. Honestly, when I watched Hurricane games, he was the WR that popped for me. Very hopeful for him.

So I think the question then is why he didn't have more production in college or at least in his last year at Miami?

It's definitely a big part of the reason he was there in the 6th. Here's hoping that we found a market inefficiency with him and those reasons are solved in our ecosystem.

In all fairness the QB play that Daniels was around was not the best. Carson Beck, can make plays, but he is your ultimate Jekyll & Hyde QB, so consistency was not his forte. Daniels has elite hands, here is hoping he will be able to create separation.

That’s a great point. If Daniels was playing for Indiana last season, what would his stat line have looked like? He was certainly good enough to start for that program. OK he may have been WR3. But even so, would likely have put up better stats. He would have started for Alabama. Oregon? You bet. All three had vastly superior QB play

PFF had him ranked 118 on their board so they saw something in his play that others possibly missed

Note… he was only a handful of spots below the eventual pick 33 , WR De’Zhaun Stribling

Daniels could easily outplay his draft spot and I can’t wait to see the chemistry he builds with Simpson and, who knows, Matt Stafford as preseason progresses

Yes, I do believe Tru Edwards is a “forgotten man” in these WR discussions. He has the size to play outside and had a good preseason last year. I don’t see how a 7th round pick is already ahead of him in some eyes. Edwards has a year in the system under his belt.
