Seriously, though, McQuaide's contract is up after this year, I believe. I think we could see a new long-snapper after this year.
Punters are definitely people, too, especially ones who like Pokemon.
Aside from that, Hekker is the best punter in the game. Nobody else flips field position and consistently pins opponents in the twenty like he has.
Add in the fact that he has a good enough arm to trick opponents and get us first downs, and you don't get rid of him.

I like that he's a backup emergency punter too, and Hekker should practice doing a few extra points and short FGs just for the hell of it.
If he makes it to the week 1 roster I will name him based on whatever feeling he invokes in me with his first field goal attempt. But until then it’s just not worth naming the camp kickers.

His career stats are more consistent than Zuerlein's. I have no problem with this guy. That said I think they will still bring in a kicker via the draft or as an undrafted FA. It should be an interesting competition. One thing about this guy is he's proven under pressure at a pro-level. Too many rookies like the one the Chargers brought in a few years ago melted down and took a couple of years to acclimate to the NFL.
