Looks like dude had a good year in 2018 and had a bad 2019. PFF has given him high marks for run defense. Nice fit..at the very least sounds like a good rotational player...

.

with the signing of floyd and robinson the rams seem to be changing their m.o. on defense.

stopping the run seems to be the main priority now. AD can take care of the pass rushing all by himself. he's used to it by now.

.

It's worth keeping in mind that we might not be as barren as we think at OLB. We now have Leonard Floyd, Clay Matthews, Samson Ebukam, Obo Okoronkwo, Jachai Polite, Jeff Holland, Natrez Patrick, Justin Lawler, etc. It's possible that the Rams think more highly of the young guys than we do. Obo and Polite both have a lot of potential if they can get their issues sorted.

He cancels out the Brockers pick. Here's a good page that keeps track.

If the Rams lose another player that gets paid a bit, it will help, but not sure anyone is left that will get even 5-6M a yr.

Would be nice if Bortles gets decent QB money to go somewhere. Might get us that pick back since QBs are overpaid.

I love the player for us, we need to improve our run D badly. Playing next to AD should allow him to play his best football. But I dont love the money. Hopefully this guy has someone playing behind him though because what good is a run stuffing d lineman with no ILB behind him. Who will be playing behind him again?

The bigger concern to me with the money spent is still the oline which hasn't been addressed. Whit and Blythe were both here last year to me that doesnt count as improving our terrible line. We need more talent flat out, not 5th and 6th rounders we hope pan out. When we made the Superbowl our offense was unstoppable and carried us, while our defense was average. Until we improve the o-line talent the offense and this team wont go anywhere.

Gonna be honest and say that I don't love this move. It costs us a comp pick. A'Shawn will replace Brockers and should be an effective run stuffer on the edge. He hasn't shown much as a pass rusher thus far in his career. It's more than I hoped we'd pay. Hopefully, the actual figures are better.
Sorry jrry32, no dissent will be allowed. Time to get this guy's jersey. A'Shawn is A'Ok.

Rebounded pretty good today w/ Floyd & him ........ still pissed about Fowler ( was one of my favorites ). Fix the O-line : settle the rb situation : and we might be right there.

Robinson has the ability to play at a high level. In two years the cap is expected to increase a lot. So, I'd speculate th at Snead figures A'Shawn will give the Rams two years of good, "next contract" production.

Maybe they lose a comp pick but it's likely a fourth. Hopefully Robinson raises his value and gets the Rams a third round comp pick, two years from now. But if/when that happens, I hope they don't resign him. They've seen his potential to tank a season. What will he do when he signs a big, long-term deal?

I look at A'Shawn and see an early-down 1T to give them the strength they were lacking with SJD inside against the run. SJD was poor at the POA and was too often blown out. Robinson is a solid 2 down 1T with Gaines in rotation. I have no problem with this signing as he will be a good upgrade to SJD.

Yeah, Bortles on a one year deal somewhere might be the only guy to get the kind of money needed. I'm assuming that 4th round comp pick is gone. Robinson could easily make the loss worth it with solid play.

Zuerlein could sign for a short term deal in Dallas worth $4-5M a year.
