This is hard to understand and many of us pontificated about this during preseason. Again, the fact that Evans has played in regular season games is superfluous, all he's proven is he's not very good. Why would you not try someone else? You can't do worse, it's unbelievable and I find it shocking nobody in the press is asking McVay about that.

• Matthew Stafford stats (past eight games): 69% completion, 2,003 yards, 12 TD, 14 INT, 82.5 QB rating
• Jared Goff stats (past eight games): 64% completion, 2,091 yards, 20 TD, 5 INT, 101.5 QB rating

i'm pretty sure it doesn't include stafford's fabulous post season tour de force. just regular season games.

but it tells a story none the less.

Something is poorly mistaken with this Evans situation, no matter how many NFL games he has been in..... This Rams Organization made this harmful decision for 4 yrs.

He is a horrible OG and always has been for an NFL team to think otherwise .......As I said something is bad and wrong. It's on them.

Yeah, IMO, they got bamboozled when he played in his rookie year filling in for Havenstein at RT. However, the Rams have changed OL Coaches & Assistant OL Coach too so I don't understand what they are missing on Bobby Evans.

If the OL continues to be an ongoing issue, it will be interesting to see how the Rams react. For one, do they keep both Kevin Carberry & Nick Jones coaching the Offensive Line? I'm sure they will provide more draft capital in that area besides creating some cap room to provide another, but you better believe changes are coming along the offensive front.

I gotta laugh at the reactions to this...
Yeah.. Evans is bad and was probably playing his worst position. He's the Rams #9 lineman who's not as bad at tackle.

Meantime... Greg Gaines.. Leonard Floyd and Justin Hollins are all grading 57 or below on defense.
Gee.. I wonder why the Rams can't get a pass rush, lol.

The Offensive & Defensive Lines have been a disappointment some due to injury and also players not performing to their expected levels.

And it's interesting to see some of the names on there that fans don't mention... rather just focusing on their favorite whipping boys.

Rapp's a very limited player.. we all know that..
But everyone LOVES Greg Gaines (including me)... but how's he playing this year?
Floyd is hurt and it shows.. he's not doing much.
Hollins just can't seem to get it.

It's just one measuring device and one perspective (PFF).. but I do think it's useful

The thing that probably encourages me most is Alaric Jackson's grade. For all our worries about the line... a projected Oline of Noteboom, Bruss, Jackson, Allen and Havenstein looks pretty good to me for 23. The Rams are in dire need of help on the edge.. so not having to spend the 2nd rounder next year (if they don't trade it) on the line will help.. and they'll need to throw at least one 3rd at an RB.

I already stated a billion times in other threads that Goff is deadly with a very good OL and he has one at Detroit. Doesn't surprise me.

On the Rams with their OL, he would be doing much worse than Stafford.

And this is coming from a Goff supporter.

I think Coleman Shelton's low grade is dramatically affected by being made to play center. He is much much better at guard.

I think Greg's PFF is greatly affected by the soft zones that Morris has done this year.

If you notice, Greg's play improved dramatically in the later half of the year when Morris instigated a much more aggressive defense.

I'm afraid we are witnessing what often happens to teams with an extremely top-heavy payroll and lower round draft picks.
The Rams have lost some significant players to free agency and injury, so trying to determine just how successful our team would be without all these injuries wouldn't be very scientific. 6 out of 8 of our 2022 draft picks have been sidelined due to injuries. 3 of our 2021 draft picks haven't seen the field for one reason or another (Tutu, B.Brown, Harris), 1 was waived and another can't graduate from the practice squad while UDFA's have seemingly passed him on the depth chart. 5 of our 2020 draft picks missing multiple games are struggling with health issues, suspension or are just plain disappointing.
Vets like OBj is still weeks from returning, and that's only if we manage to re-sign him. We all await the day Allen Robinson becomes a consistent participant, and Floyd/Gaines appear to have fallen off a cliff. And then there are Rapp & Evans which are starters who may deserve to be pushed from the cliff.
