Rams Best

We have had a thread about your Rams worst. Give us your best. I know many of you have great memories and connections. My best memories are of winning the SB and anytime we beat the Cowboys or Vikings in the 70s. My closest connection would be Larry Brooks and I went to the same High School and played for the same Head Coach. ( 8 to 10 years apart) I not wanting to step on Larry's toes did not play for the NFL. Lets here yours.

Good thread idea.

Mine is the whiners game in '99... Prior to that all I heard in the sports bars was "who have they played." Even some Rams fans weren't sure given the way the team in '95 crumbled after a hot start. Still recall that day fondly as the Rams dismantled that team in decisive fashion.

GSOT takes the top spot for me. The way rooting for those Rams felt. Looking forward to Dr. Zs power rankings each week. I still have my number 80 jersey. Man I loved those Rams.
And I love these Rams too.

Gotta say the SB. The highest of highs with the stars that we had.
And Bruce's 4 touchdowns against the 49ers.

My connection isn't much of a connection, but, when as a young boy, the NFL hit UK TV in the 80's, I was drawn to the running back position.
It's the closest position to compare to that of a rugby player and I think that was what fascinated me more than anything.
Three players stood out: Marcus Allen, Walter Payton, and Dickerson.
The following season, still coming to grips with the rules, I still wasn't supporting a team. My uncle took me to London to watch the preseason game dubbed the American Bowl.
It was between the Rams and Broncos.
My uncle bought me a program and a Rams cap and that's when it began for me in 1987.
Think i've told the story before, but great memories.

I remember as a teenager watching a game in Candlestick vs the Whiners and there was a guy holding a sign up that had one of the greatest statements ever.

"Erick be nimble, Eric be quick! Eric's gonna run all over Candlestick!"

Hearing on KMOX the Rams traded for Faulk. I knew things would change for the better.

believe it or not, for me it is the double ot loss to Carolina. Before that the wife was just a casual fan and would tolerate me screaming at the tv while she buried her nose in a book. That game got her hooked on horns and she hasnt looked back since. We have been to many games together since then, and while she may not have the x's and o's down pat, she is pretty knowledgeable when it come to the Rams, which often leads to decent discussions about our team

That would be on my list as well.

That game... We couldn‘t get tickets... so we went to the tailgate parking lots in St. Louis.... with a large tube TV and power supply in the back of a covered pickup truck... watched the game in the parking lot.

I’ll never forget the street energy after that game.

Of course, we had plenty of beer in us at that point, but that was an insane party scene.

Super Bowl is too easy. Here are some of my personal favs:

2004 against the Jets. Had to win to get in the playoffs. Jeff Wilkins with the money kick. First full regular season game I watch.

2005 comeback against Houston.

The W against the Redskins in Sam Bradford's first win as a rookie. Really thought something special was going to start

2015 come for behind win against Seattle. Last W against them in St. Louis. Sam Bradford pass to Lance Kendricks to send it to OT, and Aaron Donald capping it off.

The 2017 Seattle ass whipping.

The 2018 NFC title game. Duh. Drink the tears if butthurt aints fans every day now haha.

The win over Tampa in ‘99... I was at a house party... after the win, we celebrated spraying bottles of wine like they were champagne. It’s what we had around...and sounded like a good idea at the time.

Obviously a little boozed up... my clothes were ruined.... my buddy’s garage was a soaked mess... but it was so worth it! We went absolutely nuts!

I’m pretty sure I was at that game! We used to go to all the Rams games at the ‘Stick in the mid to late seventies. I’d wear my boots to slosh through the whiner tears on the way out of the stadium.

I loved the Rams defense of the seventies. Our ‘80s teams were good too but got overshadowed by the Whiners dynasty. Ugh.

I was actually very proud of our Rams in that XIV Super Bowl.

Loved that magical season in ‘99. I actually saw a bunch of those games in Roseville at Bunz & Co. sports bar. A converted Tudor home that used to be owned by Niner Super Bowl hero Danny Bunz.

He sold the place to. Ram fan, and the whole upstairs loft had a big screen and a Ram helmet mounted on top. The screams of joy as Faulk, or Bruce scores another touchdown were abundant that year. The other peasants below in the bar would look up over the railing to see around 20 of us Ram fan regulars high fiving each other.

It was glorious.

2002 Rams v Niners (I feel like it was New Years eve or something)...we scored 28 points in the 4th quarter to beat the bastards with a backup QB (Jamie Martin? ).

Last game of the year, 1967. Rams hammered the Colts, watching with my Dad.

November 1984, my girlfriend, now wife, and I drove to St.Louis...ED put up 208 rushing in his 2105 season. Jack Youngblood had 3 sacks.

1985 Playoffs vs. Cowboys. 20-0
ED runs for 248.


The 9ers game in 1999. I cried like Isaac Bruce.

Super Bowl XXXIV

2000 vs. Chargers, Rams did not punt. 57-31. Rookie Punter John Baker’s family came to see him play and he never saw the field.

October 1, 2017 Todd Gurley beats the entire Cowboys defense for the game winner.


January 2019, NFC Championship...Jared Goff is clutch, the Rams pick off Brees and the Leg kicks them to the Super Bowl.

I literally had just showed my younger son (again!) Hakim and Holt running side by side to the endzone right before reading this thread. The GSOT days, man. The "bob and weave", celebration....

I started paying attention to this team when they mopped the floor with the 9ers in '99. The GSOT kept me tuned in and Faulk solidified my fandom.

I mentioned attending a 2004 game where the Chris Chandler led Rams received an epic Cardinals beatdown in the other thread.

Keeping with the live theme, that high point goes to the 2016 Case Keenum lead Rams, when they stuck it to Arians' entitled Cards. Probably Brian Quicks best game as a pro. I nearly cleared out an entire section of nose bleed Cards fans that day with my "vocal enthusiasm."
