What Baker has going for him:
He plays hard and is a rah, rah guy.
He has talent and displays it on occasion.
His football IQ is better than average.
He’s still young and will relatively cheap if offered a starting gig in 2023.
He‘s never had consistent coaching.

What is working against him:
He’s a smaller build qb.
He has lost a starting qb job to Darnell???
He believes he’s a 30 million a year qb, right now he’s a 7 mil back up qb.
He will force the ball at times and misses reads.
He had OBJ in Cleveland and didn’t get him the ball.

If the Rams didn’t gave Stafford I’d like him to stay with McVay coaching him up. Reality is he’ll likely get a starting gig some where for maybe a season while a draftee develops. He’ll probably take that over being a back up at the start of camp.

Derek Carr, Jimmy G, Geno Smith and retired Tom Brady are ahead of Baker Mayfield on the wish list for teams. Any team signing Baker will view him as a bridge QB. Mayfield isn't considered a franchise QB so he won't be paid as one. That's why staying in LA is his best option. Even one year under McVay will do a lot more to rehabilitate his rep than 5 games last year. He may think he's a starter but IMO most teams at best view him as a bridge QB. Geno Smith is ahead of Baker when it comes to long term starter consideration.

Lol. You crack me up.
Long term starter? Geno Smith is going to be 33 this season, and the only starter job he's looking at is if he stays with Seattle.
10-11 teams could be looking for a QB this off season. Jets, Raiders, potentially Ravens, potentially Titans, Colts, Texans, potentially Giants, Tampa, Carolina, Saints & potentially Seattle will be looking for a QB.

Legit Impartiality vs Homerism vs memory

Ram fans thrilled to have him as a backup = Legit Impartiality

Heir successor to Stafford = Homerism

Starter for SF = Remember his Cleveland days.

Is Shanahan really the QB whisperer? IMHO, Shanahan is the running game whisperer and QBs thrive when they play within their limits. Can Mayfield play within his limits? I'm gonna say, "no".

Baker is a gamer. He has guts, but don't know if he can lead a team to win a Super Bowl.

What’s his vertical?

I prefer him over prospects in the current class. He can spin it, so has a chance, but he will not become an elite QB because he doesn’t have enough between the ears
