Donald, Olsen, Jones, Youngblood

Carter, Quinn, Grier, O'Neil, Farr for depth

Pass rushing specialists in reserve, Greene, Little.

Not making the team....Jimmy Kennedy, Sean Gilbert, Carriker, Marc Boutte.
No Lamar Lundy or Coy Bacon? OK, reasonable people can agree-to-disagree.

But no Larry Brooks!?! I may have to challenge you to a duel.

In fairness IMO, I believe people got more caught up in Coy Bacon's name then his ability, but Larry Brooks was simply amazing.
Just my opinion but Brooks is not on the All-Time-Rams' D-Line only because Donald and Olsen HAVE to be the DTs.

Think we disagree on Bacon's ability (especially as a pass-rusher) but agree that it was a really cool name ... and food.

It's interesting to note, as Vin Scully would say, that Coy and Diron Talbert were teammates at the beginning of their NFL careers and again at the end.
Also interesting (for us older guys anyway) is that their first year as starters was 1969; and Bacon started at DT, with Talbert at DE. Next year they flipped positions, and Bacon was a career-DE, with Talbert a career-DT.

Yeah, I remember that. And I guess Coy got Allen's attention when the Cowpokes would scrimmage against the RAMS during training camp. Leading to the trade that Gil Brandt references in the vid as not one he was proud of.

I remember not Larry Brooks.....I remember Rich Brooks and that memory makes me break out in hives.
Maybe this will jog your memory to remember the right Brooks, not the wrong one.

But you do remember Larry Brooks ... right?

It's just that Rich Brooks ruined you for any Rams' player named Brooks.

So looking at Rich Brooks. Would anyone be caught dead wearing that type of gear today. Hideous. And certainly not what the young folks would embrace.
It was worse when he donned that Papa Smurf blue Hat in Pittsburgh against the Steelers. What an embarrassment. Although Bernie Miklasz wrote an article about how Rich Brooks was like your next door neighbor, you know the guy who snow blows with a funny hat. I died laughing about that article.

That “wet paint stripe” was league wide attire that year. Barf.
