If Vilari or the other UDFA TE show out, I could see them moving Davis Allen. Kind of like when they moved that white WR to the Texans for a 7th. His name escapes me. I think Allen has more value than that guy. Maybe you can get a 6th?

I can't see a scenario that leads to Allens departure this season. Last season he took step forward, knows the system physically as well as mentally and is on a rookie contract.
As far as Klare we were talking in another thread right after the draft that Klare moves very fluidly and looks like a big wr when he runs as opposed to a TE.

Also noteworthy is all three of those Cheatriots teams got ousted in the playoffs. Ahhh.
So did the Rams and their #1 offense last year. It’s tough to win going into a conference championship game knowing you have to score over 30 points because your defense is so unreliable.

What I find perplexing is how the defense got off to such a good start and was playing at least respectable until…they weren’t. They became terrible, not just worse.

Any idea why?

I know those are highlights, but man does he look like a fit. Baldy is right (I hope), he looks like a Ram. That second play showed me exactly what the Rams need in a player in the receiving game. He held that block long enough that he was instantly open on release. There was no recovery for the defense at that point—he was gonna get the ball.

I think that play just might be what McVay has been looking for in all of these TEs. It shows the blocking first then get into your route technique—the patience and, more importantly, the timing.

I believe the reason Higbee has not been unseated yet is because he can consistently be where he is supposed to be when he is supposed to be there. This goes for blocking as much as receiving. Missing a block or failing to make a tough catch is one thing. Not being where you are supposed to be, AKA missing an assignment, is entirely different.

This Organization under McVay and Snead continue to amaze.

If we DO carry FIVE! Tight Ends, its very possible we only need to carry 5 Wide Receivers.

Guess we'll see if we're in on one of, A.J. Brown (possible) via trade, or Keenan Allen, Stefon Diggs, OBJ, type free Agent. Is Deebo a Free Agent? If so, him too.

My theory is our corners lacked the dog to take that top draw. We had a bunch of depth types and role players back there.

I started a thread about a third of the way through the season, and it went on for a good while where we were amazed how they were overperforming. But in the end reality hit. This league tends to expose you sooner or later even if you've got a strong rush that can buy you room for error.

Possible. And keep 2 more on the practice squad. They won't get poached. But any of our tight ends would get stolen. And I'm still pissed about Willie Lampkin.

And speaking of Lampkin... any news on what his status is?

Skowronek. Ben Skowronek. He's actually become a Pro Bowl special teams gunner with the Steelers. I'm glad he's found a role for himself; always liked the kid.

I’m cool with 5 WRs on the 53 man roster. Nacua, DAdams and Mumpfield are locked in. The other 2 spots are up for grabs. I wouldn’t mind a trade for a WR2B or a reasonably priced FA for insurance.

It all changed when Lake got injured. It may be that simple.

But maybe with him gone, they were figured out.

One reason why I wouldn't mind seeing them add Moore.
Yeah - SURE !!!

Since this is a Max Klare thread Sean Mcvay isn’t Stupid & he is always trying to get better.

I’ll start with Mike Lafleur drafting Love !! He is going to fit in well over there. That WR core is going to get better, but if you look at who The Best WR in The NFL was & on that team ? It shows a little bit more than what your AVERAGE FAN thinks.

Talk about The DB’s ! Curl was resigned.Durant walked & D.Williams retired. Why Kendrick was brought back ? Didn’t Jaylen go down at some point as well. Josh got a lot of playing time.

The DB’s are WAY better NOW !!
Your adding McDuffie & Jaylen Watson at CB. E.Forbes is only going to continue to get better. He gets DAWGED SO it helps the camaraderie of it all.

This is a NEW GROUP to say they least. We haven’t even got The Rookies into OTA’s,but that’s when you’ll start to see how things are breaking down.

IMO - The Player who is on The BUBBLE is B. Young !! He really F”up a bunch & his play slipped big time.Went from an All Pro to a Jag !! I think it was his KNEE & he was playing hurt. The Rams kept it pretty quiet.

Btw - Forbes isn’t a every down player. He does have that skill & might get there. At times he got exposed. He did show promise though.

The NFL is going with bigger WR’s which makes him valuable in some ways.He still needs to make the tackles.

I was an Ahkello Whitterspoon guy,but he tried a weak tackle & broke his collarbone. He was a good cover guy,but when he went down SO did the Defense. There was a lot learned.
Carolina has an excellent WR who I play in Fantasy.

Go buy his jersey if you want. I just see zero reason to believe he's anything other than what he looks like after 3 years in this league. Which is a depth player at best.

One truth of this league is you don't want to be that team whose hopes of a title rest on Eli Apple covering Kupp in the endzone. You want the corners out there who can do the job. And as painful as last year's playoff run was for us, the benefit is it forced the Rams to quit fucking around and filling this secondary with bargain shopping candidates like Forbes.

We now have the type of secondary you want to make a deep playoff run. Team overall for that matter. We just need health to line up for us.

Well what we know is exactly that, don’t know why you think I’d buy his jersey. The DIDN’T EXTEND #1.
It tells you exactly as I stated & of course you want health. You also want to see improvements in The Depth.
- I can’t tell you Forbes will get beat out in 2026,even though the odds say he won’t a long with Rams History.
Don’t know the player you R Cheering 4 or want The Rams to trade or sign ???? Whoever that is GOOD FREAKING LUCK!! I’ll stick to reality.

Forbes contract ends when K. Turners does as well as B. Young,Avila,McClendon,Stafford,Dotson,Shelton,Higbee,Parkinson,Allen,Puna,ext.Ect,etc..

Who gets resigned for 2027 ?? There’s a lot of mouths to feed.I’d say #15 vs. #9 or #13 might be The Best investment in a New Jersey.Maybe a used#99 who should be a FIRST BALLOT HOF !!

I’ll stick to reality.

I believe there’s a lotta truth to that because even after Lake returned the defense continued to struggle. I get it, a game or two to knock off the rust, but the defense never recovered.

The seahawks seemed to be calling the right play all game long in the NFCCG. Only a penalty or miscue could stop them. The Rams couldn’t.

2025 TE Offensive Snaps & Special Team snaps

Davis Allen 52% / 47%
Colby Parkinson
54.7% / 6.7%
Tyler Higbee 32% / nothing on ST's
Terrance Ferguson 32% /16 %

IMO Davis Allen in his 4th season under McVay & the time provided to DA as one of the main clogs on ST's ......I think he will continue to increase his playing time and certainly will not be traded or going anywhere.

Exposed CB Limitations and injuries. Shula was just not able to mask the deficiencies past the D-line (IMO).

The offense definitely carried the team, rather frustrating in the Conference Championship Game.
