I agree with this roster. Maybe pick up a CB from cuts better than Lampkin? Who would be Punt Returner from this roster.

You don’t have anyone to return punts. I like Bailey too, but move him to PS & keep Xavier Smith.

Our PS is gonna get raided—and that’s if they make it past waivers.
Two guys I’d like to see more of in preseason are:
Wyatt Bowles (G)—I was impressed with him last preseason.
Tru Edwards (WR)—I’m not so sure any of our WRs after Nacua and Adams scare anybody.

Looks like the return of Donald puts Hamilton out to clear waivers when he’s only going to be in his 2nd year. Ouch.

STs look thin. Maybe Hunter can find a role.

I think Hamilton stays. They know Donald is a one year rental. Need DL depth. In the above scenario, they go lighter at CB since Lake plays nickel.

With the emergence of Blake Corum, I'm fine with Kyren Williams taking over those duties in games where Smith isn't called up from the practice squad.

Maybe, maybe not.
It's possible Hamilton makes it over Keenan or someone else.

Work has been busy so I am behind the information super highway.

Two players I haven't heard much about that I am hoping for good things from.
How are Hunter and Klare doing? Any reports on their progress?
I think the ship may have sailed on Hunter.

Klare has earned some reps with the 1s and Robinson gave him a nice shout-out. Sounds like the kid could get some play this season. He was the prospect I was most excited about this last draft. I think he's got a chance to be special. I think his talents have been overshadowed by CJ Daniel's being a standout rookie and Ferguson getting press about taking the next step.

I'd be surprised if Hunter didn't make it. I think with the way RBs get injured, you gotta carry four. If so, he's in.

Oh I should say we'll probably roster him unless some guy balls out in pre season but the ship has most likely sailed on him being a major contributor... I hope he still becomes a useful player at least (starting to doubt that even).

He's most likely a JAG with one superpower (speed) which does not look like he's able to activate but who knows the offense and how the team practices.

I could see him being cut for the PS if another running back balls out on ST.

Regardless, we're gonna see a lot of him in preseason - hopefully he does better than his 2.7 yards a carry he was getting last year.

McVay and Snead did love the kid in the draft...

I don't know...I wouldn't say the ship has sailed on any player unless they've been cut and off the team.

Most people thought the ship had sailed on Stetson Bennett and he's in the lead for QB2. Delayed development and surprise improvement happen.

And in Hunter's case, he's squarely behind two starting caliber RBs. Truth is, as long as they have Corum behind KW, they don't need him.

There comes a point when your team is so stacked, a player not ascending doesn't necessarily mean the player is bad. It probably means they're not special, but could still materialize into a contributor or even a starter late in the contract. I just don't believe that having one season completed is sufficient time to make the call.

Nacua+DAdams+Whit+Mumpfield+Daniels = 5.
It’s possible they cut Xavier Smith, but then who would be punt returner. So I’m predicting they keep 6WRs.
Can Juarez Hunter do anything? Cut Smith over Hunter at this point is not the way to go unless, Hunter has beat Smith out for returner role. If Not Cut Him of all people. Hes Prob not seeing the Field past Rivers Anyway.

For all that is pure DO NOT PUT KWILL OR CORUM IN RETURNER SLOT!

If RB's stay healthy in camp, I could see Rivers cut and put him on the PS. IMHO the only way Rivers stays on the initial 53 is if BV views him as a core special teamer. The Rams should have no worries about Rivers getting poached off the PS, whereas someone like Wes Bailey could get scarfed up if he shows out in preseason.

As others have noted, anyone who is healthy who is also is a Preseasons scratch is pretty well assured a final roster spot. We will see where the true roster battles are after this first preseason game is played.

As to Stetson, this is a guy the Rams have communicated to Robinson and Nate that they are crossing their fingers right now that he can possibly hold the fort for 2-4 games midseason if necessary.

That ship is in dry dock baby and you hope it never sees water.

Regarding the D-Line ... the Rams CAN KEEP Seven on the 53.

They are not locked-into just six players. There is some felxibility.

Barring pre-season injuries, the Rams can keep Turner, Ford, Fiske, Donald (assuming he come-back), Davis, Keenan and Hamilton.

I count Garrett as an Edge, with Young, Stewart and a 4th player (probably Desjuan Johnson).

Right now, Turner, Young and Johnson are all scheduled to hit free agency in 2027.
I expect Turner to be re-signed but Donald would probably return for just 2026.

Even Ford's three-year contract, signed before last season, was structured as a two-year-deal that the Rams could easily get out of after 2026 ($1.8M cap hit and $9.3M savings in 2027) unless they extend him.

Barring a disappointing performance in Camp, I don't see the Rams letting go (or exposing to waivers) any of their young defensive linemen ... Tyler Davis, Ty Hamilton or Tim Keenan.

The two biggest potential "failure points" I see on the roster are backup QB and backup OT.
I don't think the Rams are in a position to withstand multiple-game absences at, specifically, LT and QB.

Spots that could definitely be better? KR and PR, imo are the two most obvious ones. But.. I'll just say I'd rather have ball security on Punts than take a risk on trying to get big plays... and if they have a crappy return game but the coverage is solid.. I'll be fine.

I sure hope so. That clip of MG with a timed stand-up rush showed 4 white shirts crashing into the line, one being Poona. So, I'm hopeful they'll want to & be able to keep Keenan (a true NT), in a hybrid 4-3 package with a DE - NT - DT - OLB lineup. Ford has shown flashes of being able to penetrate the line, and TKIII's highlights also show that, despite his size, he has good speed & quickness and can add some Sacks / TFL's.
What I'm hoping doesn't happen is that Shula gets a wild hair & changes our base D to a 4-3, with DE - NT - DT - DE lineup. In that case, you make Turner & Davis your "NT"s. Ford walks after this year & we lose TKIII. But I don't see that happening at this point, with investments at the OLB position in J.Stewart & B.Young. MG... I'm not sure he's technically an OLB. Can he cover a TE?? lol
