One threat to this teams SB window is that they have had back to back small draft classes, and likley a third one on the horizon next year (currently 5 picks). That is coupled with the fact that the Rams will have two large draft classes hitting FA in the next 2 years. While we can expect a number of guys to be retained, they can't keep them all. Maybe half at best stay.

So they need these classes to bat at least 0.800, 4 of the 5 need work out from this class. Hopefully the remaining 5 from last year's continue to develop. And next year's small class, especially if they deal some of those picks, they need to nail what's left of those picks.

Now, they will end up with more picks in 28' & 29' due to comp picks for guys they do end up letting walk, but 3 small classes back to back to back is a challenge.

This is why I cringed the past couple of years when the organization would point out that only so many roster spots were available the past couple of offseasons in regards to the late draft trade ups. Might have been an lost opportunity at finding someone better than a player on the back half of the roster.

BTW, while I'm hoping for the best with this decent draft class, the only players that really excite me are the first selection (Simpson) and the last selection (Keenan III).

Interesting. I think Trost has a chance to be the hero of the class.

Wow, Big Rob’s number didn’t even have time to cool off!
Serve it well, Mr Trost.
