Yes, this was a terrible play by him and I really hate when players do this. The upside to this is, 2 things....

1. This will be the only time this EVER happens to him, so it's good to get it out of the way in college, and not as a Ram.

2. What freaking underrated running ability this guy has, and he is going to tear off some long ass runs in his tenure with us.

Franchise Quarterback Successor FOUND.

F them picks and trade for bona fide proven Talent for the remainder of the Stafford era.

It is interesting to see what The 2026 Salary Cap is ?? The Rams are & will be willing to go all in if needed before The Trade deadline IMO.
Last season they took a little risk at trading for a CB that didn’t pan out all that well. They didn’t need much more.Addressed that with a FIRST ROUND PICK & PAID a RECORD CONTRACT for that PLAYER

Wondering if Ram Fans remember The Sam Bradford Deal before a strike year ???? Still a RECORD ROOKIE DEAL !!

Better to PAY for an All Pro Veteran in his PRIME who is PROVEN!!

Also- The Rams are doing this The RIGHT WAY going back to say Bill Walsh(Siefert) era ?? There is still a part of the WestCoast Offense here? Three TE can equal a Full Back if motioned there ?

Agree - adding that running element could be something very special. Can control The Blitz & enough not in the Box

Well inflation is a crazy thing.Still in 2026 it’s 4 years $57 million vs $78 for 6 years 2010.

They say guarantee money it’s more in 2026 ?
Yeah. I thought of that right after I posted it. It’s like Bradford’s contract being higher than the previous rookie contract only with the current rookie scale it is taking longer to get there. Bradford’s contract won’t ever be exceeded in relative terms to percentage of cap but not number of dollars. Your point is well taken. Of course in that sense, you were wrong as a $57 mil 4 year contract already beats out 6 years/$78. So we were both wrong in a sense. :zany1:

I was basically giving you the numbers is all.I really didn’t know, but NEVER ?

My whole point is how The Rams are being smart in the way of the SALARY CAP !!

Like I said of being PISSED off at the audacity of mocking LA FANS during the Draft. It’s REALLY sort of funny how dumb or numb to things now a days & how things have changed in this era.Point being Kronke is an institution of Pro Sports. The Avalanche have a good chance of winning it all again.
—McDuffie trade vs. say Jalen Ramsey as far as character a lone really adds to a better locker room. Then being able to add Jalen Watson in just brings with it a Super Bowl culture.
—Mcvay finding a young QB he can identify & groom is HUGE with The STRUCTURE of The Salary Cap while learning from a HOF Super Bowl QB.
Seeing Dan Orlosky live on Pat Macafey draft show was awesome to me.Was drinking in my car getting ready for a show & dinner while the group was inside for cocktails. He said Ty Simpson was going to The Rams & was the best QB in the Draft.
IMO he had had a couple himself & was fired up.Then to see how big Pat is in Pittsburgh.Them F”Bombing live was bizarre.I bought in to this, other wise I would have been SHOCKED!! Saw my recording of the Draft later that night & was unexcited. The HYPE wasn’t there.
My whole point is I think The Rams are ALL IN 2026.TEN YEARS under McSnead. If you look at contracts there are SO many CONTRACTS open.I mean COMP PICKS might be in ABUNDANCE??
2027 ??
—The hope is Mattew Stafford walks away in the California Sunset
with another Super Bowl at SOFI.
Mcvay starts his OWN NEW Era & another TEN YEARS with LES

The 5th year option will be about $25m so that makes it $82m in 5 years.

.

AND for The Thread sake Ty Simpson . Cheers to you 503 & those sorry AZZ Dodgers with Ohtani & a shot of SAKE !!
Kershaw just closed out a HOF career with a World Series (2 in a row),and who knows if they make it 3 ?? Stafford grooming this young guy & winning would be ultimate.

All by my HOLLYWOOD Thread is still a thing !! SOFI (Hollywood Park) !! The WORLD CUP this Summer & The OLYMPICS in 2028.

Thanks Stan !!

That does go Back to Ty Simpson & Rams poster like me & Stetson Bennet.

Ty Simpson’s contract isn’t CHEAP!! He is a RAM to be THE MAN at QB !!
There is NO HIDING that FACT !!

What happens & how things play out is a different story.Ty Simpson still has to EARN his time on The Grass. He is already afforded The Opportunity

Simpson will cost $25.4m for 4 years. I assume the 5th year option will still be $25m for a qb no matter where they're selected.
