Best COMEDY that is. I stand by my remark. Very intelligent humor. Star-studded cast. The great Ben Stiller, with supporting performances by all-stars Tom (Fuckin) Cruise and Matthew (Freakin) McConaughey. Not to mention a stand-out performance by the great Robert Downey. Brilliant writing. You MAY need a re-fresher, 503-y......
I haven't seen it, but then you said Ben Stiller, so now I too am questioning your taste.

Nothing trumps "Dumb and Dumber".

dumb and dumber to GIF

You can't fix stupid

That's hard to proclaim for me. I'm just a fan of movies that make me bust up laughing. So many good ones out there. Here's another, Basketball by the makers of South Park
The movies were in response to a post that said Tropic Thunder was "My favorite comedy made this Century"

Anchor Man, Wedding Crashers, both Hangovers… there’s quite a list that would trump Tropic fucking Thunder
I laughed hard at Tropic Thunder so can't agree that it was bad. I will say your list is better than it though. If I had to rank my best comedies this century I would put Wedding Crashers as number 1. I have never laughed so fucking hard in a theatre in my life. That movie was just hilarious from beginning to end. Off top of head with no thought whatsoever I'd rank comedies this century....

Wedding Crashers
40 Year Old Virgin
Old School
Dodgeball
Anchor Man
Superbad
Stepbrothers
The Hangover
Ted
Talledega Nights
Tropic Thunder
Pineapple Express
Role Models

Quick Personal Anecdote about Wedding Crashers, the scene at Christopher Walken's daughter's marriage opens with a panoramic view of the reception. The location is St. Michaels Maryland, at a popular Inn.

It's where my wife and I were married (she frequently tells me it was the happiest day of my life).

Anyway, the opening view is the exact spot where we had our wedding ceremony several years earlier.
We are sitting in the theatre and, just as the panoramic-view comes-up, my wife elbows me in the ribs ... Really Hard ... and exclaims ... 'That's where I got married!!!'

Through the pain, I mumble ... "Yeah, I know ... I was there too"

The highest average-laughs-per-minute in my comedy movie watching experience has to be Step Brothers. It rarely has more then a few minutes of something that isn't laugh out loud funny.

I’m about to have shit flung at me by all of you…

But Will Ferrell is overrated and John C Riley is too ugly to look at,
