I have heard a Drew Brees comparison, however, the key is to get Simpson as many reps during training camp and preseason IMO, while also, calculating what they are going to do with Bennett.
And I do wonder how much, if any, that changes Rams overall approach in preseason. I don’t think it’ll mean starters play.. but I think we could see more action for the primary backups.

Les says Drafting Simpson allows them to be aggressive trading future 1sts.

I sure hope Simpson get ALL of the pre season game reps. If Bennett plays, make it the 4th quarter. Bennett is the 3rd string emergency QB, Simpson is being molded as the franchise guy. Simpson needs reps.

Given the amount of rest Stafford has gotten in the past during camp (not withstanding his injury last year) there should be at least 1-3 days where Simpson is running with the 1s.

Reps during joint practices for him which we're not totally privy to will be the most important as he'll be seeing a real defense and not the vanilla stuff from preseason.

Without seeing the throw I can't really comment but his torso mechanics and feet were probably right for that throw and he'll need to have that consistently to hit something like that whereas guys with great arm strength may not even have to have the torque in the lower body to do it (see flick of the wrist throws by Allen, Stafford, etc...)
Check out the video bro.
He makes every throw you could ask of somebody.
Scrambling.
Standing with his feet together.
Running around awkwardly.
Under pressure.
Until I saw that video above I'd never really seen much of him playing.
Only what I'd read.
It's a pretty impressive video.

Well that's just your opinion.
That's what they said about Joe Montana and why he was drafted so late.
Same with Tom Brady.
They have a few Super Bowl wins between them. ;)

You would have loved JaMarcus Russell though.

umm... who's saying you can't win a superbowl with an average NFL arm

I think you brought up Russell cause you don't know what you're looking at when you see a QB throw. It's actually a cool thing when you dig into it.

Also you seem to equate average with bad here, perhaps because average has been used in your life to denote bad things?

Someone needs to open the schools so everyone can take a statistics course.

So who did you want at 13 that was better?

Whoa, we are way beyond statistics and now you're attributing a supposition to me that I've neither stated nor believe.

Just so I'm clear, you're equating me saying that Simpson has an average NFL arm to me not wanting him.

So I'll make an assumption about you. You believe that having an average NFL arm means that a QB is not worth 1st round pick (heck, I'll be generous, a top 15 pic?)

Christ.

I don't love the pick but he's got a lot to like about him. An average NFL arm is not the end of the world.

... Seriously, I don't have an opinion but it's never a bad-time to post a Jeff Lebowski ... The Dude, not the Big Lebowski ... quote. Read a bunch of evaluations; and pretty much split between average-to-above average, with a few good arm-strength comments.

By-the-way ...

... and, on a final note, Walter Sobchak may be the best film character in the history of ridiculous, absurd film characters.

Joe Montana and Brady mentioned in the same breath as Simpson? Interesting

It's a simple question man.
Since all of your OPINIONS are stated as a FACT I just wanted to know as a FACT who we should have picked.

I mean you're really impressing everybody with your amazing football knowledge of what I'm thinking and what's average and such, I thought you might want to dazzle us with who we should have taken.

What a JOKE !! You can Mock The Draft, but YOU can’t MOCK Ty Simpson to THE RAMS !!

I find it funny still when the RamsEx QB came on the Mcafee show (whatever).

Tom Brady & Troy Aikman can do there thing & think there ALL THAT as non-QB’s . We can talk about Kurt Warner breaking down film on Ty Simpson as well.

I find this very intriguing . Really don’t understand your point, but
just sharing.
