Short memory…

Wanna go look at what everyone was saying about the Seahawks and Darnold before last season?

This is one of the most epic crash outs in this sites history. lol
Darnold played well in the playoffs but he had long stretches of the season where he sucked. If Seattle had Dallas’ defense, they don’t even make the playoffs.

Yahoo Sports first round draft grade for the Rams: F.

This will be a commonly held opinion amongst other pundits, players, and coaches. This board is legit the only place I see people defending this pick.
You know they said the Same thing about Hurts LMAO

Couldn’t.
Care.
Less.

And.. it’s less defending the pick than it is not having a total meltdown over it.

No the track record is the track record. It’s not like there’s this whole other group of 6’1 QBs with 15 collegiate starts that fucking crushed it once they sat behind a vet for a couple years. Those guys don’t exist either.
Unique situation... let's see how it plays out

Pundits? Yes. I'm sure we'll get bad grades because the idea of drafting for the future always makes their heads explode.

We won't hear the opinions of players or coaches, so that's kind of an off-base point.

Are you kidding? Seattle would still have beat the shit outta 90% of the teams and went in.
Are YOU kidding? Their defense was their ticket. They were the best in football. If you gave them the 26th best defense in football, they aren’t making the playoffs. Darnold led the league in turnovers!!

Players all over Twitter are making fun of the Rams pick tonight. This message board is legit the only place I can find people happy with it.

People with no rooting interest either way saw our pick and thought “well that was dumb”.

Bears made the playoffs didnt they? I must be an idiot to think a 27th ranked defense made the playoffs, with a WORSE Offense!

yeah because Caleb Williams didn’t turn the ball over. If Caleb Williams turned the ball over at the same rate as Sam Darnold, the Bears don’t make the playoffs. It’s pretty simple.

It sure isn't the usual pumped up either Jrry.

Nobody knows for sure but seems like the pick was more Les than Sean.
I'm not sure what the big deal is. Both Snead, McVay, and Demoff have said that the draft is more Les than Sean. Snead oversees the draft, his team brings players to the coaches, and then together they decide who they like.

But why does it matter? We are one of the better drafting teams over the last 9 years, and one of the most successful teams in that same time span. Let them cook!

Yes he does, He only had 3 less turnovers than Darnold. He fumbled more than Darnold but Darnold threw int. A Turnover is a Turnover.

Yes, in three years we all may be rejoicing in the Simpson pick if he plays well. But I fear we may all be heartbroken in late January/mid February because we were a Bain or Lemon or Sadiq away from a SB. It's been a few hours now and I still can't believe it. Your choice of so many good players to play RIGHT NOW and you pass. And this rationalization about "well, our pick at 29 got us McDuffie" - that's BS. We had the 13th pick too! In addition to McDuffie!! You'll never get a shot like this again to immediately improve a SB-worthy team. Like it or not, this single selection may very well define Snead & McVay's legacy. And wow, McVay looked like someone shot his dog at the presser.

I haven't seen any players making comments. Which ones?

I am sorry so many of you are angry but that’s what happens when a relatively small handful of us turned out to be right

Of the handful of QBs who become plus starters from this and next years draft, Simpson will be one. Stafford will love this kid and will be a willing teacher. We have surrounded him with elite coaching.

Could they have traded back? There was not a lot of trades full stop. I agree that we should use some 2027 capital to move up perhaps twice

WR
Center
Returner

In that order

I love Bernard so if they traded up to take him I would be happy. That said there will be a great WR prospect at 61 because teams will be drafting Edges LBs and CBs who are impressive groups

We need to find a backup OT but perhaps via trade or FA post draft
