I don't know man. I have seen McVay talk up a storm about his draft picks in prior years and this time....It's called projection, you're seeing what you want to see?

Do you see how many other Rams reporters and national reporters have made the same observation? It's called projection, you're seeing what you want to see?
I don't think Snead would do that. And I don't think it would go down that way if he wanted to do it that way. This is wrong. Anyone that thinks McVay has the final say over Snead doesn’t know how this works.
Hell, watch the draft footage from previous years. It’s on YouTube. You can watch McVay and Snead interact in the war room. It is CRYSTAL CLEAR who is in charge and making the final decision. And it’s not McVay.
Warner had some very good things to say about Simpson in terms of a fit for the Rams O.I'm not sure why folks on this forum are complaining. I love this for two reasons:
1. Simpson looked damn good making the throws that are key to our offense.
2. It tells me that Sean McVay is planning to stick around for the long haul. He picked Stafford's successor.
The fact that Snead played a role in convincing Simpson to declare tells me that they're very high on this kid.
Pretty dark first post I’ve seen you drop on ROD.Simpson sucks just like all Alabama QBs. Next AJ mccaron or Mac Jones incoming. This is the last legit year. Get ready
The Pats did it to Brady and the Packers did it Rodgers. And it pissed both of them off.I don't think Snead would do that. And I don't think it would go down that way if he wanted to do it that way.
They have a MVP winner at QB1. They are a contender. There is no way the GM would take a QB and shove it down the Coach's throat, plus risk infuriating the QB1, all on his own decision making.
Doing this requires an agreement by all involved. It's a significant move to use that resource on the QB instead of another piece. I'm sure the owner agreed to it as well beforehand.
But I am fine disagreeing on this.![]()
I still don't know what we have in Bennett but as a 4th rounder you take a shot. But didn't these same people draft Stetson Bennett a few years ago (no, not in the 1st round)?
...how did that go so sideways?
Just saying.
There's nothing we can do about it.
I want to look forward to the rest of our draft.
They have had more than enough time to go over scenario's, the board didn't catch them by surprise and unprepairedI am beginning to believe the Rams just didn't like anyone else on the board so decided, "What the heck. We will take Simpson"
This was a very weak draft after the top 8 picks.
Lot's of ego's and personalities to balance possibly but highly doubt like I said above that anyone was caught off guard.McVay’s mood and body language seem off, so it really makes you wonder if they weren’t on the same page tonight.
Yeah, Snead probably didnt want to play the "Goff, Stafford" game anymore of having to give up TWO 1st Round picks every time he needs to find his Franchise Quarterback. He was determined.Maybe some picks but I think this pick was 100% Sneads. He’s been high on Simpson going back to the middle of the season. McVay probably didn’t event look at his tape until February. Sneads been leading this call for 6 months.
Orlovsky is correct that the receivers had a crazy amount of drops; RCW was one of the massive culprits after an outstanding freshman season. He's not correct by saying that Alabama's receivers and O-line were poor; that could not be further from the truth. The guys I mentioned are all talented receivers (who will likely be high draft selections - if not this year, then certainly the next; RCW and Horton have first-round pick potential in 2027. Lotzeir Brooks is undersized, but he's got stupid crazy athleticism, and he was a redshirt freshman this year, so 2028, I could see him as a first round pick, especially if he gets bigger. And some team will likely pop Bernard before us in the second round this year); they just dropped passes as a group.Fair enough. Admittedly I don't watch much college ball or do much scouting. I was going by Dan Orlovsky's analysis, who certainly implied that Simpson had a poor supporting cast at Alabama. The number of drops by the Bama receivers was crazy.
Nope. False.Simpson could win us multiple SB's and be a Ram legend....
And we could have moved up in the Second and and grabbed him. Thats whats so dissapointing.
Supreme narrative building. Just say you hate the pick instead of stupid crap like this. It means nothing.Lmaooo what?!?
Point them out then. List the number of QBs, 6’1 or shorter with fewer than 15 starts, that had a good NFL career. Hell, you can even get rid of the 6’1 requirement if you want. Just make a list of NFL QBs with 15 starts or less. I look forward to reading your list!!
Good problem to have. What if Stafford doesn't move on for 4 years lol
Exactly right. Being right or wrong is not about what team takes who, but rather about who pans out as a player in the NFL. From here we just need Simpson to bust his ass and compete hard and win games when he gets his chance.End of the day, Simpson is a QB. If he pans out, he's easily worth the pick. If he doesn't, he wouldn't have been worth a second round pick.
