The oblique muscles can be superficial to deep and extend over the abdomen to the ribs. It can be very painful. It's a strain of an abdominal muscle.

Minimum treatment is for 2-6 weeks of rest. Trying to play with it risks losing him for the year. IMO they will shut him down for two weeks and then reassess the injury.

I swear does it never end? It sounds like it happened in practice.
Okay, I’m going to say it…

We all know how to use Google (or, perhaps, WebMD).

You have no more knowledge or information than anyone here.

Maybe it’s something new, or a significant aggravation, that will cause him to miss time.

Maybe it’s something that they’ve known about since Sunday, and they merely held him out to help get him ready for Sunday.

Stop pretending you’re a doctor and just wait for actual news like the rest of us.

Okay… rant over.

I swear I cursed him.

Picked up Kelsey - mystery injury

Theilin - mystery injury

Watson - mystery injury

Hopkins - mystery injury

Then just picked up Puka off waivers since I lost week 1 with all these injuries. Now Puka is injured.

Sorry. My fault

Trade for Purdy, Aiyuk, Deebo and Kittle. Pay $$ if you have to.

Why do you like put others down and try to shut them down? You are no better, unless you are the owner of this great forum, let others speak what they want and keep your opinions of what they say to yourself.
My momma used to say, "there are times that if you don't have anything nice to say, you should not say anything at all". you should listen to my momma too :)

So you’re saying it’s bad to criticize what other people post and suggest that they post differently?

I'm pretty sure the Rams will play Demarcus Robinson. He's got good height and speed (4.56) and experienced. He reminds me of Jefferson in some ways. He plays a similar supporting role where ever he's been. From what I've seen he played well in Baltimore last year and was very surprised they released him. Like Witherspoon, Robinson could be a find and stick around for a while. He's 28 so he has a few more good years in him.

You know what I’ll be positive either way it goes. As long as the Oline and Stafford stay healthy we will have a chance every week.

If need be the boys will rally around Tutu, Van Jeff, Robinson, Sko, and higbee for the W :horns:

I spent 3 years working the trauma unit at Balboa Hospital. Oblique strains don't take a medical degree to understand what it is and what the treatment regime normally is. I simply was passing on info so that others here could understand the impact of what this injury might be.

Of course I have no way of knowing what the severity of it is, but for the Rams to disclose it I think it's more than a scratch. Frankly I don't care what you think of me. I'm here simply to express my own observations and opinions. You are free to ignore them or accept what I post. Why you get so bent out of shape over something so trivial is your problem not mine.

I think they released Robinson because they signed Odell Beckham.

They disclosed that he did not practice due to an oblique issue. That is the sum total of the facts at hand. You have no “observations.” You’re reading the same information as the rest of us.

As for working at a hospital…that experience should mean that you know better than to express opinions on a patient you’ve never seen, examined, tested or personally evaluated, particularly with respect to an injury that has a broad spectrum of severity.

Instead, you’ve basically already declared him “out” on another thread and called for a call up from the practice squad to replace him.

Watching him play Sunday it just seemed like an injury was imminent. Not major, but something was/is coming with that guy (when watching him - might just be me).
Not just you. Myself and another rams friend I watch the games with said the same thing on Sunday. It's hard to explain, but the dude just hits the ground so much harder than other players, and he kind of just lays there for a bit afterward. Makes sense bc it looks like he gets absolutely rocked everytime he touches the ball.

I watched Pukas interview after the game he seemed totally stoked and in no pain.

I watched the coaches show and McVay said Puka had a simple strain and would be fine so it appears to have happened in the game. But maybe at practice can't be sure.

My take: a lot of this board is about opinions and speculation, and it's all perfectly fine.

Some posters offer opinions and speculation about game strategy and schemes and play design. Nobody cares if they're professional coaches or not. Go ahead, post away, we all take it with a grain of salt.

Some posters offer opinions and speculation about which players should be cut, or who should be traded and why. Nobody cares if they're professional evaluators or not. Go ahead, post away, we all take it with a grain of salt.

Some posters offer opinions and speculation about how badly they think a player is injured, or how long it might take for them to recover. Nobody cares if they're professional doctors or not. Go ahead, post away, we all take it with a grain of salt.

This board is flooded everyday with random opinions and speculation. And I think that's exactly how it should be.

Just my take-- more of a "live and let live" stance toward posts and posters. Kumbaya and all that....

No you're right, he has a reckless playing style. Throws himself into contact and lays out for every ball. You have to appreciate the dedication but definitely leaves him susceptible to injury..

He's gotta learn to play a little more under control, know when to lay out but it seemed like it was every play.
