McVay knows Morris will want to play uber soft again. He understands the offense will have to carry the defense. He's going to want to score 30+ in a run heavy offense. A run heavy offense is the easiest way to protect a new OL. Run blocking means the OL gets to be the aggressor not absorbing the hits.
Pass blocking is one of the hardest things the OL must do. They are reacting not attacking. It's no different with the DL which would rather attack at the snap then sit back and read. I look for McVay to come out and try and establish the run from the first snap. He's got big dogs up front. Run and quick timing passes until the OL hits its stride. To open with a wide open offense would be a mistake IMO.
I wish I could watch it live but I won't be able to do so until after the game this evening. It's Maggie's brother's birthday so it's family first. This is the beauty of NFL+ because I can see the entire game in replay mode.
Finally it's game on!
