Some scuttlebutt getting passed around about the Rams and Deandre Hopkins. What would you think of that signing? A one year deal?
As our number three guy? I would be good with that.

I would still prefer Keenan Allen, but I am glad they are looking to add a vet before camp.

Since Diggs cleared his charges, wouldn't mind kicking the tires on him. Another vet WR that can beat Man is a nice thing to have.

Hahaha, I hope coming out of OTA's we don't suddenly sign someone... it's be a poor sign of Trost at the position.
Methinks they should sign someone no matter what happens in OTAs.

No way should they bank on a rookie 93rd draft selection in a weaker draft class. And a kid with 32 3/8" arms that has played 1 game at LT in the past two seasons.

A lot of # 2b receivers available. Adams will be 34 and was on a snap count last season that will likely be reduced even more. He's not a true #2 at this stage of his career. He's a phenomenal part timer at his current age (especially in the red zone) - but he's a 2a that needs a 2b. We need someone else. Plus Puka plays a reckless style that simply is going to get him banged up and likely to miss time. Without Puka, this group is very weak. Everyone else besides Puka and Adams is not at the Super Bowl level we need. And Adams can't handle a full work load at his age - not if we want him at his best for the playoffs. Maybe Hopkins could be a second part time #2 - he's by far my favorite of the free agents career wise, but I think the 2026 version of Deebo or Diggs might be better. That said, I would absolutely love to see Hopkins here to get a ring. One of the best ever.

How many teams in the NFL have a great #3 WR?

None

Yeah, if Puka and/or Adams get hurt, the Rams might struggle a little at first. But their WRs will still be as good as the Chiefs or Niners, or Pats - all playoff teams.
And we have the best TE room in the league.

But if a couple guys on the OL go down, we can call it a season.

While true, how many teams have a #2 who is going to be 34 and on a snap count? How many teams have a #1 that puts his body on the line and at risk for injury consistently? I don't disagree that we could use a veteran backup OL, but I think we can and need to do both.

When did Adams get on a snap count? When he pulled his hamstring?
Or did McVay simply do a better job of rotating the WRs last year?

13 personnel is going to limit some snaps for Puka and Adams anyway.

Looking more closely at UDFA TE Rohan Jones.

The more I look at him, he might be more of a WR than a TE. Averaged 27 yds per catch on 19 receptions at Arkansas. He seems to get downfield a lot. Could easily be a big slot. He looks like a bigger version of Whittington.

Hopefully they can hold onto him on the PS if he can't make the active roster this year.

Who is Higgins? And are you taking into account that Adams only played in 14 games instead of 17 and got hurt in the middle of one?
Tee Higgins.

Yup. 33 year olds tend to get hurt. Anyway, point is Adams is not a full time #2 like Higgins. Adams only played around 65% of our offensive snaps from week 7 to the end of the year. Some weeks at less than 50%. He's now a year older. The odds of him being a full time #2 are pretty slim. We need another WR. imo.
