I didn’t listen, but I do think either rookie will be starting at some point for The Rams,if not both ?

To think Speights is all that ? I’d say these to might be the better ILB’s .

Stewart - for some reason question more ? Then again there’s Brandon Graham(Mich). Donte Fowler just had his best season be sides his Super Bowl run with The Rams 2018.

Great listen. Agree with their pov. Best quote was, "I just don`t want to see Reeder play LB..." LOL!

Interesting idea about trying Stewart as an off ball linebacker. Edge rusher was not a primary need when they used their second pick on him. So it got me wondering. Young and Turner will be in the last year of their rookie deals next year. If they couldn't extend them both, right now I'd say Turner has more value to the defense with what he can do from the interior of the line. Maybe they're thinking Stewart would be an eventual replacement if Young leaves for free agency. And extend Turner.

That was my original assumption, but he is a bit light as a full time edge.

Well, there's that. At 6'1" its not like he has room to fill out. That 240 is probably as heavy as he will get. Maybe the idea of moving him to ILB is not a bad move. That size used to be the prototypical MLB back in the day. Now ILB's are lighter and more athletic. But we can remember when some thought Aaron Donald was undersized for his position.

I just really don't like the idea of drafting a guy and changing his natural position. He most likely is a better version of Hoecht. He's gonna rush the passer and drop back as needed.

Young is listed at 6’-2” 258 lbs. that extra 18 pounds can make him more durable/physical against offensive linemen.
Young's combine page listed him as 250, Stewart is listed as 249. With a year of pro training and nutrition he could make up the 9 lb difference.

Hopefully. The biggest difference I see is that Stewart is mostly upper body strength. Young looks like he’s got stronger legs.

Yeah, Kobie Turner is going to get PAID - but not til 2027. But for now, he might be the cheapest guy on the roster when taking into account pound for pound production.

I agree with Stewart being an eventual replacement for Young. That said, I'm not sure why people (supposed experts) keep saying that edge wasn't a need when we lost a pretty big piece in Hoecht.

If he's 258 then he's gain a ton of good weight since the combine. He was 250 at the combine and based on his speed I'd think he's closer to that.

Stewart is perfect for the cheetah package the Rams ran last year with Hoecht. Five man front with the cheetah lining up in different places on the line sometimes rushing sometimes dropping in the hook zone area. I think he may be a better fit than Hoecht was.

I hope so. As soon as the announced him I said, “Hoecht’s replacement”.
