Good football coach, who will get another gig. Wanted Rivera in 2006, however, Tweedle Dum & Tweedle Dumber (Shaw & Zygmunt) went with Milquetoast Linehan.
Disagree with you! I think that Zygmunt is Tweedle Dum and Shaw is Tweedle Dumber!:ROFLMAO::cool:

Rivera is a good not great DC. I wouldn't want him here. I'd rather have John Pagano who taught both Wade and Rivera the hybrid 3-4 scheme that Wade has been using since he was in San Diego. Rivera's roots are as a 4-3 DC and that's where he's most comfortable. The 3-4 hybrid requires a more creative defensive mind. The 4-3 is about execution and one size fits all.
oldnotdead,
Many Rams fans on this board believe we would be better suited to change back to a 4-3 defense. So, what do you think about that?

Talking to Redskins fans here in Virginia, they definitely want Rivera as their HC next year.

But I always respond ... do you really think he would come work for Snyder?

The trend with teams is to the 3-4 hybrid. It is played like a 4-3 but with far more flexibility because of the types of players you have. The 4-3 is very limited and stresses execution over deception and scheme. Both are 1 gap penetration schemes so I don't get why people think that by going with a dedicated 4-3 scheme it's somehow going to be better. The 3-4 hybrid give a DC the advantages of the 4-3 but the flexibility of the 3-4. For those advocating for strictly a 4-3 they need to understand the 3-4 hybrid system before they say things. Besides why fix what ain't broke.

The 3-4 hybrid allows Wade to move AD, Fowler, and Ebukam around to get the best matchup. You can't do that with a dedicated 4-3 because you don't have the player positional flexibility.

He was coach of the year in 2013 and 201

This is going to make it hard for them to attract some talent knowing the rope is that short.

@Mojo Ram Newton will be playing for the Bears next year........I just have that feeling.
I’m not saying it’s all on him but he’s got three winning seasons in nine years. He’s had very good defenses most of that time as well. The GM has changed already as well.

He was a pretty good DC from what I remember and controlled it a lot as HC. I’d rather stick with somebody running a setup like we have now.

Could Rivera be Wade's replacement next season? Hmmm...

Thinking the same. Cal kid, west coast guy. I saw writers state he will get a HC job right away. With the push for offensive minded guys I question if that would happen.

I can't see him getting a head coaching gig after his track record with the Panthers and all the offensive struggles as of late. But, maybe. Who'd you think would hire him as a head coach?

OK while talking about his teams struggles on O how about talking about how the QB is shit.

That's a BIG handicap right?

Hmmmm. I wonder if Ron would like to be the new Rams defensive coach and take some time off head coaching duties. May be Jay would like to be oc for coach mcvay?
No offense Mr Philips. Just trying to see what they could do along with their Grand opening next year and our expectations for a better year?

Sorry, I didn't see the previous post. As you were
