We lost our best friend, Oscar, a couple of weeks ago to heart disease. Oscar was our rescue Dachshund that we found in the middle of the road 15 years ago.

Oscar used to watch Ram's games with me all the time - although he'd give me some dirty looks and often wonder off as I yelled at the screen LOL

Goff audibled into "OSCAR" 6 times last night and each time, at least 5 yards was gained on those plays.

Thanks for looking out for us from the Rainbow Bridge, Oscar, my old friend!

I'm sorry you lost your buddy Oscar. Dachshunds are a breed of wonderful faithfulness and weirdness. We have a rescue miniature found on a road also. I've had dogs all my life and great ones at that but a dachshund stands alone. Life is short and there are many dachshunds in need of a good home that understands them. Get yourself another one. (y)

Waiting to find that one that really needs us. My wife nearly ran Oscar over when she found him. Not even a year old, dumbass "owners" had him chained to a tree in the yard.

He was a badass, no joke. NOTHING, and I mean, NOTHING, was allowed to come into his yard. Had a terrible case of IVDD. Recovered from a back surgery at 6, neck surgery at 13, Cushing's disease, and finally the heart disease got him. He was indestructible.

It's only been a few weeks, and was moving through the grieving process. Everytime Goff audibled with his name last night, I really felt like he was here watching, as cheesy as that sounds.

They certainly have a lasting presence. Ours is a red short hair. What was Oscar?

You deserve an Oscar, for pretending that life is ok without Oscar.

Oscar loved living with you. Even though you were always cleaning up after him

I’m sure it was hard to be grouchy around Oscar.

Sorry to hear about your pup @RamsInfiniti

The Goff "Oscar" calls must have made the hair stand up on the back of your neck.

We have a great thread in the Off Topic forum that is just for our dogs called My Dog Rocks. Many of us have gone through this and have shared there. You should check it out... and post some pics of Oscar too.

I was wondering where Oscar came from as I heard Goff shouting out that audible as well. Now I Know!

Always amazes me how they work their way into the fabric of your family. And your heart.

Two Decembers ago we put down our Yellow Lab at 14 the day before my birthday (awesome timing). Then last year, right before we left CA for AZ we put down our Rottie mix, also at 14. We still miss them greatly!

Sounds like Oscar had a great home!

Sorry for your loss man. Pets - especially dogs become such a huge part of your life. RIP Oscar.
