Doesn’t answer the question… are INSURANCE COMPANIES in a red state with Ron DeSantis as Governor “woke” because their climate models based on 7 decades of science indicate that they need to charge much much more each year because of the increasing number and damage of tropical storms and hurricanes?
Will all this affect football fields in the short term? Not likely as like I said, golf courses are likely first and many places around the world already play soccer on dirt.
That said, it wouldn’t surprise me if in the very near future, all water for grass will be banned in the desert southwest. We’ll see, but the models that until now have only been inaccurate so far insofar as they’ve underestimated the severity and speed that we will see catastrophic impacts… those models show severe long term drought continuing for decades even with brief reprieves for El Niños
So, no, football won’t likely see many impacts except for a few rescheduled games in the short term, but long term, like everything else, there will be an impact. I mean Miami floods on sunny days during the Kings tide now. It’s gonna be an issue at some point and likely sooner than any model is showing
