Apparently you weren't around before 1980 or weren't paying attention to Rams football..
I didn't say they we're or that LA's players we're more legendary. I may believe it but I didn't say it. FCS. GSOT was and will always be legendary and yes you do have some tradition there. Kurt Warner is one of my all time favorite Rams.
Still, 49>20 every day especially on Sunday.

In 1980 I was 6. I'm 40 now. That's a long time ago.

The Cardinals played here longer than in Arizona, but they haven't been here in a long time. The only tradition they would be restoring if they came back is the tradition of screwing a fan base. Same with the Rams.

its funny how your feathers ruffle over this, when earlier you said St Louis fans don't matter. ill agree the fans should be left out of these talks but you cant have your cake and eat it too, don't diss us either, all fans matter, st Louis fans matter, LA fans matter, bumfuck Egypt fans matter even, so please don't say any fan base doesn't matter.
Agreed, Tony. No offense, BuiltRamTough, I get that you are excited about the possibility of the Rams coming back to L.A. but I find a lot of your comments to be crazy biased to the point where I sometimes take offense. The only thing you lose by moving the Rams to LA is the STL fan base but you gain so much by the Rams in LA. REALLY???? GTFO with that crap, dude. Seriously.

I get the history of the L.A. Rams, really I do. 49 years is more than 20, but we're not going to sit here and act like 20 years is just stopping for a cup a coffee. That's a long freaking time to be attached to a team.

Dunno Stu, I know if you have grass inside you face a humidty problem condensation on the roof which may cost more for running the physical plant and they don't want to go to the AZ system bk that would be expensive
What do I care about all that? I'm a fan damn it!

Yeah - you may be right Rich but I would think with open sides, it wouldn't be that much of a problem. Also, don't they have water features under that glass? Seems like that would be a bigger problem. They could install a subsurface irrigation system so you wouldn't have spray going into the air. I've installed them myself and they work pretty damn well - especially for reclaimed water projects.

A little side note: My uncle built this insane house on the cliffs of Malibu. The house was 9 stories tall but each floor was fairly small. It had a terrarium of sorts in the middle of it in which they planted a couple palm trees (had to lower them in by crane) next to a water feature that sheeted down the wall and emptied into a little pond in the master suite. The thing he never figured on was it would rain inside the damn house every afternoon. You couldn't put anything that couldn't get wet within about 15 feet of the terrarium. Quite the house though.

Yeah, i had season tickets one year in Anaheim, and went to many games the years i didn't even though i lived in the valley. How 'bout those nachos though?
Can't honestly say I remember the nachos. I only went to a couple games there. Actually I went to a couple Angels games there as well. I do remember buying what I thought were some pretty good seats only to find out I was about a mile away from the field of play.

I dunno man. I have a problem with Bum Fuck Egypt fans. They suck.

You're right but if the NFL does decide to approve a move to L.A. for the Rams, this will be part of how they rationalize it: The Rams have a 50 year history in L.A., they're still in the NFC West, their rivals are all in the west, etc...

Or maybe they won't see it as "rationalizing" but will see those as the actual reasons why they approved a move to L.A. A 50 year history is no laughing matter.

I attended I think 7 games in Anaheim stadium. I specifically remember the Colts vs Rams game, the first year that Dickerson was on the Colts and his first time back in Anaheim. That was a good game. First play handoff to Dickerson and a two yard loss.

Neither is a 20 yr CURRENT history. The actual reasons would be all money, nothing else. If Anchorage, Alaska was where the money was, Stan would be moving there. I don't think there is anyone left who denies this is the case.

A 50 year history is no laughing matter.

I agree but i don't think it's the reason they're moving, if they do. They'll move because Kroenke's the owner and that's what he wants. But the way the NFL will explain it won't be quite so direct.

I remember when Kroenke first bought the Rams and agreed to 3 home games in London. Demoff explained it as an opportunity to "expand the brand." Ultimately they only played one home game in London but a move to L.A. would certainly be an opportunity to expand the brand...

It'd do even more to reaffirm the idea he was all about money and had zero loyalty for a customer base that depended upon THAT very thing (loyalty)

L.A. transfer fees could be up to $500 million per team

If/when (when) one or more NFL teams relocate to Los Angeles, the owners will be required to fork over a significant transfer fee.

Per NIck Canepa of U-T San Diego, that amount could be up to $500 million per team.

The league’s relocation policy expressly states that a relocating team “will ordinarily be expected to pay a transfer fee to the League,” aimed at compensating other teams for the loss of the opportunity to move to the new market themselves and/or accounting for the enhanced value of the franchise arising from the move.

With Steve Ballmer buying the NBA’s L.A. Clippers for more than $2 billion last year, it’s safe to say the move of an NFL team to Los Angeles will enhance its value, dramatically. Because the factors include comparison of revenue streams and franchise value in the old market and the new market, it’s possible that, for example, the Rams and Chargers would face different transfer fees, if they move.

The relocation policy also gives the Commissioner discretion to adjust the transfer free based on the NFL’s interest in encouraging the move or discouraging the move. In other words, the NFL will once again be able to do whatever it wants to do.

The most prudent approach would be to negotiate all aspects of relocation between the team(s) that will be moving and the league office before ownership votes on the move. If an impasse is reached, an owner can decide to defy the rest of the NFL and move without paying a transfer fee or accepting any other terms. While the NFL believes it can impose its will on specific franchises, the late Al Davis proved when moving to L.A. more than 30 years ago that the antitrust laws prevent a collection of independent businesses from telling one specific business where to do its business.

That’s the ultimate leverage for the Rams, Chargers, and/or Raiders this time around. It requires a willingness to alienate the league office and most if not all other owners, but keeping up to $500 million could provide a strong incentive to deal with getting the cold shoulder at ownership meetings.

..

Yeah I agree. I don't think that the Rams 50 year history outweighs the 20 in St. Louis. Both are incredible histories

How the NFL would sell it is another story.

I could easily see the return to LA being a viable story which (outside of St. Louis) the public would embrace.
On another front, and I've seen you mention this elsewhere, if the Rams are to stay in St. Louis, Kroenke can also repair his image similarly to Tom Benson in Louisiana.

So what if Kroenke informs the NFL that included in his stadium and the development is a west coach home for NFL Network, if they waive or reduce the transfer fee? Offices, studios, etc... Just a thought?

There's no way in hell they waive or reduce the fee....

also, some food for thought if push comes to shove...

I'm confused you post there is no way in hell they waive or reduce the fee, but than confirm that the Commissioner has discretion to adjust the fee...So why can't he adjust the fee based upon the agreement of an NFL Network Head Quarters that has been written and spoken about?
