We'll see. Drafting an edge rusher that high, and only getting 12 sacks in 2 years, regardless of pressure rate, is not good. Add in the missed tackle rate of 24% then 22%. I'm just being realistic, that's teetering on bust. If he can't drastically improve his sack count and drastically reduce his missed tackle rate in year 3, is he a bust? Yes.

He could become a great player but he's not yet. And BY did play better, posting an 8% missed tackle rate. He also contained against scrambling QBs much better and again, actually made the tackle on those QBs.

Amazing trade, this will make us better on D for at least 2 years.
A bust that led the entire NFL in QB pressures his first 2 years in the league. Okay.

Obviously Verse had his faults in not finishing plays or developing more of a pass rush skillset but his no.1 job was affecting the QB and he did it very, very well. Probably a top 10 edge rusher in the league already.

But no, he will never be Myles Garrett who is an alien and probably the best football player in the league.

I have the utmost appreciation and respect for Sean. Sincere gratitude. I finally realized, after years of watching him, what sets him apart; the dude rarely blinks. Yes, he has to have the most naturally moisturized eyes in history. Just watch how frequently Myles blinks while keeping an eye on Sean. Myles- typical. Sean- different planet. It's unbelievable. I tried following along with Sean and couldn't do it!
One more reason why Sean is like no other:-)

I seem to remember a rule change that you couldn't do that anymore. You have to have the pick to make it conditional IIRC but as always can and will be wrong on stuff :D
I think your right, I wonder if it's tied to certain performance clauses? like leading the league in sack? I'm sure will find out soon enough.

I gave up on it. We’re going run a lot the Davis Allen clone personnel packages this year.

I’ll trust and have faith until gamedays answer my questions.

(y)
I'm not sure about the running part, but there will be more 13 than 11.

Yeah the performance or possible even an extension maybe? That seems possible to me or it could be tied to Jared to honestly.

Sorry man, you're definition of bust is way the hell off. Guess DPOY and being an all pro twice means nothing. Yes we got a great HOF player but essentially saying this dude is almost a bust yet Cleveland would only do the deal if Verse was included tells me all I need to know. Young is good but Verse was barely scratching the surface. Only reason the Rams made the trade was because they want to win right now. Verse will be a good one in the future but Garrett is already a HOF in his prime.

Totally different styles of play.
Verse is certainly more powerful....the comparison I was really making is that Long would get a lot of pressures and a handful of sacks. He was heart and hustle, just like Verse.
He could take over a play or a series.....players like Garrett can take over games.
Im not critical of Verse at all, or Long for that matter....just the gap between Verse and Garrett is large.
I don't disagree about the gap being there at all. If Verse learns to finish those pressures, that gap will shorten tremendously. I truly believe Verse cares enough and is talented enough to improve. Unfortunately for him, the Rams want to win now and Garrett is the much better player right now.

Agree with everything you are saying but saying he'll never be at Garrett's level this early in his career is not something I would buy. He's got time to get there, but whether he gets there or not will be interesting to watch over the years. As of right now, Garrett is the top dog of pass rushing DEs.
