Like others have said. As good as V8 is…. and he’s pretty dang good, he’s not even close to what Myles is. Verse is a one trick pony, power. Myles has it all. I personally love that my Rams are always striving for a ring. Many years in the mid 2000s we were slop garbage bottom feeders. It hasn’t been that for a decade now. In Les and McVay I trust without hesitation (as always). Best GM/HC combo in the league for a hot minute.
Another Superbowl in SoFi!

Why? Garrett doesn’t want to be there. He wants out. He’s 30.

Verse is what, 25? He ain’t Garrett but he’s a very good young first rd player you can build around.

It’s funny folks are attempting to talk me into Garrett. There’s no need. I love Garrett to Rams.

Im saying having to throw in a 1st, 2nd, 3rd in addition to Verse is pretty rich.

Now, if we had kept Verse and included Young in the deal? Sure…the Browns are going to need those picks to equalize value.
I was hoping they would at least get back a couple of day 3 picks.

I get what youre saying, its just a difference of how we are viewing each player. Myles had a great year last season. Set a record. In fact he almost doubled his average in sacks for his entire career. How does a 9 yr player do that? Well a good majority of his sacks came within his conference which delt with Burrow and Lamar playing injured and a 43 yr old qb. He also had 5 against NE who everyone was saying all season their OL was dogshit. Im in no way undermining Garrett's achievements, bc theres a reason 23 sacks is a record. But the jump he made from the previous season to last has to have an explanation due to how extreme the jump was. So I dont expect that to be the new norm for Myle's going forward. Just like I dont think Verse's sophomore season is going to predict his 3rd season. He has too little of a body of work to really work with.

I do agree with you on the comparisons of play style between the two players. And I would honestly rather have Garrett's style of play than Verse. And I will correct myself when saying that Verse "may be just as good". I didnt mean elite, but in talks of being one of the top DE's in the game in a few years.

Ill also put it out there that Garrett rubbed me the wrong way when he was talking shit about leaving Cleveland, no matter how much they offered. Well he was full of shit and took the money. So I also have a little bias. Lol
Well at that least that big bitch can say he's all about winning now :laugh4:

Verse tended to disappear late in games. I don't hate the trade.

Garrett is 30 already so don't know how many good years he has left.
I was disappointed by our dline in general the last quarter of the season plus playoffs. It wasn't all on them, our CBs were non-existent, but I kept hoping for big game changing or closing plays by our front 4 and they never seemed to come. Maybe this plus McDuffie flips that script.

I'm not so sure about this. Garrett is a HOFer, but he's also 30 years old. My concern is how much he has left in the tank. Hate trading an ascending player like Verse. But I get it. Verse isn't Garrett. Hopefully, Myles still has four or five great years left.
Perhaps they are thinking of the next two or three years with Stafford on offense and then a rebuilding period to follow

Initially loved it because I thought it was a straight up swap. Now Im kinda meh with our 1st attached. Why would the Rams have to give up a 1st? Both are great players. Garrett is the better pass rusher but Verse is super young.

Don’t like the pick attached but love the player swap.
It should really be almost a 2nd rd pick if the Rams handle business and win it all.

Think of it this way: Verse is worth a 1st; Garrett is worth 2 1sts and change.

I think Garrett is a better, more impactful player than the two stars that were traded for 2 1sts last year. (Parsons and another player I'm forgetting)

I mean Garrett is the best player (potentially) in the NFL. Its always amazing to add that to your team.

Personally, Verse was my favorite Ram and would have LOVED for it to have been Young instead, but I see why Verse would be the demand for the Browns.

Scared to see the rest of the compensation outside of the '27 1st, which is also a bit of a bummer.

Garrett also makes a TON of money. Not sure how we will afford extensions now.
The money was my first thought! How is that going to work when so much talent are heading for second contracts. The only way this makes sense is for the Browns to swallow a big chunk of Myles contract!

Also, I feel gutted for Verse. The Browns! He doesn’t deserve that

People were talking about three or four first round picks for Garrett. To get him for only Verse, one first round pick, a second round pick in 2028 and a third round pick in 2029 is actually really good from the rams side. The rams will get those picks back in the form of comp picks most likely.
They will only have a chance to closely recoup a 3rd if you are talking about the value of the pick, however I agree that they'll recoup some picks via the comp formula.
