On Sirius radio today they were saying there are 25 starting DE’s 32yrs old or older right now. The position plays longer in age than others, likely due to technique being a skill.

Garrett should have plenty left. He takes care of himself. Age and injury is the potential risk in this trade.

Verse has been a healthy player. That is hard to trade away, even if his upside isn’t Garrett in his prime. That said Verse could get a lot better. He doesn’t strike me as a finished product.

Garrett makes us better right now and if he stays healthy the next few years. But we paid a lot.

I have 8 more pages to read.

Verse slipped last season. Couldn't get to the QB, he comes close but just doesn't appear to be fast enough off the ball. His second year should have been his best.

Maybe not generational but Verse is an All Pro and my guess is he will continue to excel. He has a high motor, pride and accountability. If that’s a bust sign me up every single year for drafting a bust.
Verse was selected to two Pro Bowls but was not named All Pro.

Yep, which is why I said his record breaking season last year was nearly twice what his career average is. And i explained why i thought that was using research. Also, I said he talked shit about not going back to the org and yet took the money and went back. I agree its a clown show, so why would he go back. Try comprehending what people are saying before responding, instead of some triggered emotional response over someone's opinion.
My apologies, was a knee-jerk reply. Garrett, though, hasn't had less than 14 sacks in any of the last 5 years, last year was not a one-off anomaly, and 2 time DPOY playing on a shit team

Unfortunate Browns fan here… hard to believe they traded him but I’m happy he’s going to yall. I’d love to see him win a ring because it’s not happening in Cleveland anytime soon.

You folks will love watching him. He is an insane athlete and a great locker room guy. The helmet thing was an anomaly, well gotta slow down driving too but besides that he will be a great fit.

I’ll be rooting for you next year. He deserves a chance to win. If there’s any hesitation, on how much you gave up, I’ll bet that goes away as soon as you watch him effortlessly get to the qb. He’ll probably get more holding calls too.

Best of luck! I hope to get your opinions when the games start.
This seems very similar to Lions fans after we acquired Staff. Wanted us to go win it all for their Legacy Franchise Player who wallowed in losing only due to team incompetence.

Bust is definitely a huge overreach whoever said that. But I will agree there is a scenario where he ends up as a 6-8 sack per yr guy in the NFL. He hasn't shown a consistent ability to win outside of his bullrush.

Assuming he's healthy we're about to get 3+ years of elite 15+ sack play from Garrett. He's just an entirely different level of talent and its not really close tbh.

Bingo. Verse is such a great human and teammate that this gets overlooked. As much as it hurts to lose him hes not a pure pass rusher. 2 years to develop that side of his game and it didn't happen as much as we hoped obviously. McVay also had to meet with him mid season last year after a slow start.

Not only is Myles Garrett a pure elite pass rusher but he is truly generational. One of the best pure rushers to ever walk the earth. We haven't had this talent of outside rush since prime Quinn who still is levels below Garrett. Garrett is far better right now than Von Miller was when he came over.

Plus we have him under contract for a very affordable next 3 years which lines up perfectly with Staffords window. If you asked me after last year our biggest holes or area to improve heading into the draft... Mine was CB, then OLB/ pass rush. Only because last year when we really, really, REALLY needed someone to win on a 3rd down pass rush it didn't happen enough.

Do you guys think we win the Super Bowl if AD never got to Burrow? Did you see what was happening on the outside? I thank the lord we'll never know and it doesn't matter.. because when we had one snap to win it AD got home and brought us that ring.
If you are talking about Ramsey he fell down while looking back and jumping to celebrate when Donald grabbed Burrow
