We are in the dead part of a lost season. Our Super Bowl winning QB is on IR and his injuries are concerning. After watching Perkins and Wolfy stink up the season, it makes you long to see the Stafford to Kupp connection from last year, again. Simply replacing Stafford with a warm body who can throw a little bit, isn't that easy to do with any success. Kurt Warner and Matthew Stafford have proven they had/have "IT". For me, "IT" is that rising to the moment, ability, on the biggest stage. Both proved it by winning a Super Bowl and no other Rams QB was able to do it. Both had help. Stafford had Kupp and Warner had Bruce, Holt and Faulk, but even so, the teams would have lost Super Bowl 34 and 56 without them. For these reasons, I have Warner and Stafford as number one and number two on my rankings. Those below them could be disputed in the order for which I placed them. I tried to place them in their prime. Everett may be a surprise for some, but I remember how much promise he had and the trades needed to land him on the team, well before the Phantom Sack and the "Chrissy" Everett moment with Jim Rome.

1. Kurt Warner
2. Matthew Stafford
3. Jim Everett
4. Roman Gabriel
5. Marc Bulger

The Rest
6. Vince Ferragamo
7. Jared Goff
8. Pat Haden

Roman Gabriel was the Rams starting QB when I started following the Rams and he was one “REALLY TOUGH SON OF A GUN” and is my personal favorite with Kurt Warner and Matthew Stafford (Even with only playing one season got the Rams! But, What a Season that was!!!) way up that list!

I loved how tough Gabe was, but I don't know his game would translate in todays NFL? As big and strong as he was, the Dlinemen today are monsters

Jared Goff>Marc Bulger
I don't think so. Bulger never had a good young team around him Like Goff did. He did have Torry and SJAX and Goff had Kupp and Woods.

When you say, "after the merger", are you referring to phase I or II? Phase I, common draft and NFL-AFL World Championship game introduced to conclude 1966 pro football season. Phase II, AFL teams join NFL in 1970. The reason I bring up this distinction is, as much as I idolized GABE (THAT'S MY QUARTEBACK), he honestly didn't perform that well from 1970 -1972. Not awful, but not up to his level of play 1967 (when he has a strong case for MVP) - 1969 (won MVP).

Ironic because I was just conversing with several of my Ram compadres on who or whom is our favorite Rams QB of all time. Now some are a tad older than me, but only by two years, that fine gentleman liked Roman Gabriel the best, but he did not see him play that often. Most of the group like @Loyal went for the Grocery Store Phenom in Kurt Warner, but he went into the hall of fame as a Cardinal so there is that for me to an extent.

My favorite of all time will always be Vincent Anthony Ferragamo. After years of not getting to the Super Bowl, it was Ferragamo (and a great defense) that got us there. The pass to Billy Waddy against Dallas will always mean so much to me in so many ways. Plus after years of short, lack of arm strength of Pat Haden the Rams now had a big QB with a Big Arm. Plus those uniforms are referred to as "Ferragamo's."

I'd say Goff > Vince.

Otherwise, pretty much in agreement.

Honorable Mention: James "Shack" Harris
