It'll be Corbett when all is said and done.

Shelton is 285 lb and is wet behind the ears.

Allen would have to have improved in leaps and bounds from what we saw during his last attempt.

Corbett knows the offense, he knows the snap count and he knows the line calls.

Imo this is meaningful. McVay wouldn't have said "guards" if they weren't in play, and more than one of them.

Clearly Corbett is in the mix. Could still be Anchrum too. Not sure what other guards he could be referencing.

Suggests to me that camp competition could be very interesting at center, even if we draft one.

I can’t believe that McVay is comfortable with either Allen or Shelton as the starting center on a team that he thinks has a Championship roster, especially after seeing how the player that was better than both, got beat like a red headed stepchild in the Rams last Super Bowl appearance.

Think you're right. McVay likely doesn't want to rule out the existing centers before camp, I mean he has to give them a chance... but I think the fact that he mentioned the guards clearly tips his hand.

Im always amazed how ling it’s been since the Rams had a good center. It’s ridiculous when I really think about it. As a Ram fan it seems like it is this impossibly difficult position to fill and that a good center comes along only once every 20+ years.

Meanwhile better Centers than the Rams have had in a decade have been picked off of other teams practice squads. i.e. Daniel Brunskill.

Couldn’t any Rams Oline coach find one good center? I really believe Kromer was overrated. I know Boudreau was and Loney’s book on playing Oline must have read like a ‘Horton Hears a Who’

Have McVay and Snead typically acted with subterfuge or is that just wishful thinking...
I really feel Quinn Meinerez is their guy and they've met with him multiple times. If history shows anything a high percentage of our picks have come from guys they've met with.

I feel he is our pick if he is there at 57 and if not we trade down.

Just like they wanted to keep Blythe around. Lies.

What they said was keeping what Sullivan brought & they appreciated Blythe as there starter.
The Rams gave Blythe 2 1 year contracts. They never bought in & Brian Allen was a 3rd rd pick.He also was the starting center under Sullivan.LAugh all you want. There is a reason why Matthew Stafford was brought in for Jared Goff. They didn’t give up all those picks because the Offensive line was bad.
Carberry has an excellent inside on players in the Draft.Who knows where they are going to go with there #57.

Players from the Senior Bowl as well.He could be a good addition.
Wondering about his answer about the LB.

I wonder if the QB maxim is true for Centers? ”If you have more than one Center, then you really don’t have any Centers.”

Coach speak.

It's wise to talk up current players as if they have a shot at starting.

Even if they don't.

Well Mcvay said Johnny’s job is safe.Les signed the punt because of his rating by his scouts regardless of position. Covid is a concern. In fact Mcvay won’t show up until Friday in Malibu

Until you do. Somebody is going to have to take over the Starting Center spot.I just wonder who is cross training at Center from guard.Looks like Corbett. Noteboom for some reason makes me think he could be a starter. I just know The 2021 Bug 5 are training together at Whitworth’s house. That’s Unity & The Group speaking out. There is a lot of depth, but competition is just that.
Anchrum & Brewer were a 7th rd & a UDRFA. Both have done Jack Crap & could just be practice squad guys. J.Demby just continues to get better going into his 4th year.Brian Allen was still a 3rd rd draft pick & starter in 2019.
