Big topic this morning on the radio.

McD is a little different. Should have thought about it first before hiring coaches. I don't who they are. He is getting paid well. Has 4 children at home. I get wanting to stay. Who knows when Billy Boy is retiring? Have no idea about Luck or the Colts really. They got a liitle better as the year went along.

It's a character flaw to me. He doesn't know his own mind or his word means cr@p (or both). Sure, the assistant coaches hired have jobs this season, but what incoming HC really wants assistants foisted upon him? They better be d@mn good or they won't last past a year, imo. This is just a shyte show, starring a selfish opportunist, Jeffy.

Could shake up the draft if Indy gets added to the list of teams looking for a QB in the 1'st round.

It's entirely possible they've always been on that list. Do you gamble on a broken QB who hasn't been his self for a while yet, when you are there up high in a great QB draft?

If I'm up that high in a draft like this, with good QBs up there, I am either taking a QB or trading out for a very nice return. But again it's hard to say they haven't planned on QB all along.

I agree, although my reply was more about fans & media pundits and where they are mocking QB's rather than having internal information as to where a team may or may not have started listing picks on their individual draft boards.

Report on the news here stated McD was packing up his office at Patriot place when Kraft and BB walked in, discussed salary and blueprint for Josh to take over HC duties in the near future.

So this tells me that Bellichek will be gone within 3 years.

McDaniels accepted the job that morning and bailed in the afternoon. Luck's shoulder didn't change over the course of a few hours. McDaniels used the offer he had to leverage for a better offer because he's an asshole. He's always been an asshole.

I actually heard a comment on NFL Network comment about Andrew Luck being a HOF candidate when he retires...

FOR WHAT?

If he is ever inducted, unless he actually leads the Colts to the Promised Land, will undercut the institution...

LOL at this point he is a semi-bust.

He's done nothing.

Did you hear that on ESPN? Because they were "speculating" about that, which means someone made it up.

jrry are you sure about that timeline, I thought he agreed to take the job a couple of weeks ago, and they hired staff he wanted.......then he bailed out a day ago.

Even more so because men with families up and disrupted everything and moved because HE asked.

His word in the coaching community has to stink on ice.

No, was on local news report bud

Well, I'm not sure about the timeline in that respect. I think it's quite likely that he accepted back then, but he was still on board in the morning because they started signing his assistants and scheduling the press conference before he changed his mind in the afternoon.

I remember when half of this board wanted that dipshit. he will never be a good head coach.

I was in that half. Didn't like Shanahan, wasn't sold on young McVay. Damn am I glad I was 1,000% wrong on that one.

I said it before the Superbowl that if the Patriots won, BB would retire. Now that they lost, I think he'll give it another year and then head off into the sunset with 7 Superbowl wins.

I doubt that it was a morning agreement and an afternoon decline.

Assistants got contracts done, which takes days, and then he backed out. Leaving them in the lurch.

He's allowed to do that, it isn't illegal, but it means he is a turd. He is allowed to be a turd.

This was a big clusterfuck.

I doubt it too, but that's how it was represented. My point is that the Colts announced him in the morning, and he backed out in the afternoon. The Colts didn't announce him because he accepted the job weeks ago and said nothing since that time. You know that they had confirmation that morning that he was going to be HC.

I wish I could say this surprised me....can't.

McDildo has always been an inconsiderate and immature s*** hole, this just reinforced that notion.
I would have been livid had the Rams hired this jackass instead of Coach McVay.

Luck will probably never play football again. A new report came out shortly before McDaniels ran off that Luck was scheduling yet another shoulder surgery. I am betting that was why McDaniels backed out, knowing he would have to build up a franchise with no real talent and Brissett at QB.

I think it was all about the Patriots and not Luck. If he was worried about having a QB in place he would have accepted the Titans head Coaching position like most expected. He is close friends with the Titans GM.

Here is how I see it using the theory of Occam's Razor:

1. McDaniels has said yes to Colts, hired on staff and packed his stuff at the Cheatriots.
2. Colts announce him as coach.
3. Kraft and Billy boy pull McDaniels into the office hours before he is set to sign the Colts contract.
4. After several hours in that meeting, he comes out and informs the Colts he is staying with Patriots of New England.

The last minute meeting dictates that Luck's arm most likely has nothing to do with it and that it has all to do with what the Patriots are offering.

McDaniels has an ego so I highly doubt more money in his contract stops him from becoming a head coach again. That most likely leaves the Cheeters Head Coaching position being offered to him once Buttface retires.

What I would like to know is why did Kraft cheese and Bilicheat wait so long to offer him what they knew he wanted most? Was it Billnblow making it clear he wants to retire soon or was it both him and Bobby LoveKraft trying to stick it to the Colts after deflate gate?

I don't think sticking it to the Colts has anything to do with it. More likely, Belichick doesn't want to lose both his offensive and defensive coordinators in one off season. He also endorses McDaniels as head coaching material. After the Super bowl coupled with the divisive relationship ordeal, Bill decides he has had enough. He agrees to give it another year. Kraft, with the uncertainty of Bill also fears losing McDaniel. So they convince him to stay.

Indy is still my dark horse in the Cousins Sweepstakes.

If Luck is damaged goods they would know. I heard that he was overseas for like half a year getting treatment.

Supposedly Cousins has Minnesota on the top of his list of desired places to end up. After dealing with the Skins GM, I doubt he wants to work with Irsay. Besides, there are other QB needy teams with better rosters than Indy's.

I doubt they relocated already.

The Colts weren't allowed to officially announce it until after the Super bowl. However, it was reported weeks ago that he had chosen the Colts job over Titans job. Shortly after Tennessee announced hiring their new coach.

well this prick better hope he does get the pats head gig ... because his word means nothing and i think he has burned a lot of NFL bridge with this bush league move
