I love bacon, chorizo, and sausage... but as I've gotten older, I won't eat eggs unless they're cooked into something like a baked product. The smell of eggs makes me gag now. It wasn't always like that though because my Mom and Grandmother used to make them for me all the time for breakfast and I liked them.

Up until the last few years I always enjoyed having a lightly fried (sunny side up) egg on my sandwiches... the liquid yolk was heaven for me. I also enjoyed having Huevos Rancheros for breakfast at a few different restaurants too.

Now... eggs just disgust me. Starting with the smell and also the taste and texture. That is really the only food item that has ever gone from me really enjoying them to hating them. I don't know how to explain it... but my brain and senses tell me HELL NO to them now.

But I've really never liked eating breakfast of any kind. I don't really get hungry until about 2pm every day. My siblings love cereal... but I have never really liked it very much. I skip desserts too basically always. I will eat cherry pie (hot) with vanilla ice-cream and a good quality key-lime pie, but I won't eat cakes of any kind. I don't have a sweet tooth at all. It wouldn't bother me if I never ate any kind of dessert again period.

Ha... he still gets em, but not from me.

I may not have shared this. When the wife and I bought the house we're now in about 4 years ago, Rasta simply could not deal with the change. We had lived in our other home for over 20 years. My man cave in the new place is where I put his giant cage (4 adults can stand in it no problem). The man cave used to be a ball room for the previous owner. It's is basically windows/glass doors on 3 walls and has 18 sky lights. He fucking hated it and I was about to lose it because parrots are beyond demanding.

It took me a long time, but an angel sent me a perfect match for him. A retired lady near Tampon has a female Vos Marie eclectus (same as Rasta) and she brought her over to meet Rasta. She (the parrot) walked right into my house and right and bee-lined it across the floor to Rasta's cage and she was instantly in love with Rasta. Rasta had been looking for a female under all furniture in my house his entire life... now he had one staring into his eyes. It was amazing and perfect.

He lives with this nice lady and his new found love now. He is happy again like he always was in our old place. The lady takes him everywhere she goes. She's retired. He even plays the drums now... she got him a parrot sized drum set. She sends one of my twins pictures/videos of Rasta all the time. I can't always look at them without a lump forming in my throat, but it is the best thing for all of us. Especially Rasta. He is spoiled beyond belief.

And for us real old folks, not only do we remember his name, we also remember the urban legend of him dying from eating pop rocks
(Which was totally not true)
It TOTALLY was! Except it was actually Grape Nuts and not pop rocks!~ Yul Gibbens

I love eggs. I generally only buy these now a days.

The yolks are pretty much orange and stand real tall off the whites. Give me a couple over easy eggs, bacon/sausage, English muffins - I’m set until dinner.

So you’re telling me you don’t like crab cakes or razor clams and eggs? Disappointing. No eggs Benedict? King crab eggs Benedict?

I generally only eat eggs on Saturday and Sunday. It’s one of the few meals Becky will make.

We go to a restaurant here in Reno (PJ’s) that makes maybe the best eggs Benedict I’ve ever had. 3 lightly poached eggs with very thin sliced ham and spinach laid on top of a split croissant then topped with a sherry cream sauce served alongside pan fried red potatoes and onions. I’m salivating just thinking about it.

Monday through Friday, my breakfast consists of a large glass of rich, chocolaty Ovaltine.
