I used to just tell them to hang on and I'll get Stu. Then I'd put them on speaker phone and occasionally holler out "hey Stu - it's for you" then tell them I'd be right there. The goal was to keep them on the line as long as possible so that they couldn't molest the ears of others and also listen to their conversations. There were some pretty funny conversations going on over the speaker phone.
