This too shall pass. Going thru it right now for sure.

The worm is about to turn.
It better start at least wiggling.

It is definitely too early to be overly concerned but they are playing so poorly right now that it will take some real heating up to get them out of this funk. We all know the talent is still there. The fire needs to get lit and keep burning.

I really think as Ohtani goes they all go.

Once he starts finding it, I think they will all relax and start to hit and have fun again. Heck look at Toronto, Seattle and Milwaukee, all 4 final 4 teams none of em lighting the league on fire.

Games hard....

Ohtani is definitely pitching at a Cy Young level. Pitching is gonna have to be lights out until the offense breaks out of its funk. Showed signs of it last night. Hopefully they end the series with a split.

Edwin Diaz is a total fucking asshole.

I respect a lot of your team - even if I give you occasional shit - but Diaz crossed a serious line.

What did he do exactly other than leaving the Mets the way he did. Wasn't the most decent way to leave but I wouldn't call him a "total fucking asshole" for it.

When I was a kid a neighbor was into cockfighting. He even gave me a couple rooster chicks. I raised them as pets. He said I wussified them. But they did live a better life than their siblings.
Full credit to you for raising them as pets rather than what your neighbor likely wanted. I'm guessing you had to raise them well away from each other when they were grown, though?

Yeah, their natural instincts don't let them be friends with each other. I had their pens next to each other as they were growing but had to keep them further apart when they got bigger. They were pecking each other through the chicken wire. I ended up giving one away to a friend who didn't have any other chickens.

You're a fatesend, Snacks. I know you've got a lot of stories about taking care of animals, and I appreciate you for that. I'm glad you gave those roosters a new lease on life and a better life than they would've had being pitted against others of their kind.

It's why I can't stand people like Diaz and the others who are a part of these things. Forcing animals to fight or baiting them is a horrific thing to do and such practices should be sent back to the Stone Age where they belong; there's no excuse for it and no reason to do it in the twenty-first century.

Its a cultural thing in some of those Latin countries. But it does need to change. Its a brutal fight to the death. My neighbor showed me some of the blades they use. They attach them to the feet because the roosters will kick at their opponents when they fight.

While I don't like to see it, I'd be even more outraged if it was dog fighting. I have a soft spot when it comes to dogs. I've helped the local rescue a few times with stray dogs I came across. They were flown to no kill shelters out of state and adopted by loving families.

Now back to the Dodgers. Nice sweep. Outscoring the Angels 31-3 in 3 games. Whats even nicer is Sasaki finally having the kind of game they envisioned for him when they signed him. One run in 7 innings with 8 K's. And no walks. That was huge. Walks have been a problem for him during his struggles. Hopefully he's figured something out.

I care deeply about animals of all kinds (just started a angry - because I saw the video, got pissed, and just had to get it out - thread about a guy who threw a big rock at an endangered seal with no remorse on off-topic), and I am truly outraged by rooster fighting and bull fighting because I feel that no animals should have to fight to the death, be tortured, or even run races (in the case of horses who are ridden in races too young for their bodies to handle and discarded afterwards) for our entertainment (I'll also include baiting foxes and other animals for a hunt amongst that category; I know it was a popular thing in Britain not too long ago, and I hate that on all levels, not just for the fox, but the horses and the hunting dogs as well). I was upset when I saw a story about a guy in Wyoming who tortured and humiliated a wolf (first hit it with a snowmobile to stun it, then muzzled it with tape, put a leash on it, paraded it around a bar before shooting and killing it right outside in cold blood) because they're my favorite animals by far.

I hate it when people are cruel towards animals, whether it's pets or wild ones. I knew a psychopathic kid who was in my folks' house (because his mother was the girlfriend of my brother at the time), and the little bastard tortured and killed one of my brother's fancy rats and traumatized her sister (and bragged about it when he was caught) - rats where I was the one who took care of most of the time (I was not in a wheelchair at the time.) and who were intelligent and kind enough to respond to me - and I was distraught about that when I heard. They had done nothing wrong and they would've been affectionate towards that kid if he had a heart...which he didn't.

But yeah, dog fighting is the worst, especially since those assholes will use cats and smaller dogs as bait and to bring out a killing instinct in their dogs, not even mentioning the whole of what those poor fighting dogs go through in their fights. There's a lot of fighting dogs that have to be euthanized because it's impossible to rehome them, sadly.

I love dogs and cats equally, if I'm honest, no matter the type of dog or the type of cat. Dog fighting just pisses me the fuck off and gets me enraged for the sake of the dogs and the baited animals. People like that...fuck the law, they should be put the fuck down. I'm all for the law and the process of justice normally...but torturing animals - no matter the type - goes beyond the pale, and people like that are all but irredeemable.

Sorry for the long, rambling post. I just had to get it out. I don't think people like the Diaz brothers are redeemable. I don't care if it's cultural; people with a heart don't torture animals or pit them against one another on purpose.
