I agree, and I do NOT want to see Skubal in Milwaukee or Atlanta......I don't think we can count on Glasnow. And I'm not sure how long it will take Snell to return to form. He usually struggles early on for a while. Sheehan is risky. So is Sasaki. And now Shohei's got a knee issue. Yeah, I think they should go all in on Skubal if they want that threepeat. You need 4 starters. Yoshi, Wrobleski, Skubal and either Shohei or Snell. If both are good to go and in good form then maybe Wrobleski becomes the long relief guy.
Yeah and we had em in the 9th, poor AB's from Pages and Freddie. And Tuck had a brain fart rounding 3rd.....Rough night for Wrobleski. Gave up 4 homeruns. Vesia came in and gave up the game winning homerun. It happens. As long as this isn't the start of a rough stretch for those two. Wrobleski's had some very good games. But he does have the occasional stinker.
Lauer has been outstanding. IM torn about trading him or not.Another stellar start for Lauer. One hit over 6 innings. I hear he might be on the trading block. I'd rather keep him around this season. He's been a big addition. I don't know what his problems were in Toronto but whatever it was the Dodgers helped him solve it. Diaz in his first game back gave up a run but got the save. You should expect a little rust at first for him. Should be fine before long.
In this case, the bullpen was severely depleted. He had very few options - none of them good. I’ve been critical of Davey before on several occasions. This one I kind of understand.Roberts is a really good manager but sometimes he makes (or doesn't make) moves that make me just shake my head.
Irvin had pitched 5 very good innings. First game - about time to take him out.,
Then he gives up 2 runs in the 6th inning on a 2 run homer. Okay - it is really time to take him out.
Then he gets the bases loaded. Um Roberts what are you doing and then he gives up a 3 run double.
WTF are you doing Roberts. He pitched 5 really good innings and then you let the game get out of hand once his stuff is done for the night.
Stick with him man. We are good.I know you're a Tucker fan @Rams8821 but I'm so over it with him. He has some spurts but he looks like he just doesn't give a shit and has been a liability both at the plate and in RF. That lazy attempt at catching the ball that went over his head in game 2 of the Seattle series was infuriating! He reminded me of Machado's time with us. I'm sick of seeing him jog. The only reason he doesn't get errors is that he doesn't even seem to try to make a hard play on a ball. He can take his trash can stench back to Houston.
