Disagree. He'll be 33 next year, will not have played a full season in two years due to injury, and doesn't play special teams.

Time to move on after he gets his ring.
That injury he suffered in the playoffs after a dirty hit hardly constitutes Higbee being injury prone. When ever we need him he rings the bell. Players like that are difficult to replace even if they are no longer starters

He’s played well and may yet come alive in the playoffs just in case you have forgotten how key he was last season and the year before. I don’t get this Higbee is ready for the scrap heap talk especially after everything he’s done for this team. Parkinson looks average and certainly no where near Higbee’s level of consistency
I'm grateful for everything Hav and Higbee have done for the team, but in both cases, they've been getting injured more, their play this year has fallen off, and the player behind them has played better. In Higbee's case, the coaching staff had already started giving more snaps to Parkinson since the bye. It doesn't look like they agree with your assessment.

I wouldn't say that he's injury prone either. I was pointing out that he getting older and has injuries these past couple years. I wouldn't expect things to get better for him.

And for gameday rosters, a team needs as many non starters to be special teams contributors as they can get.

It is better to get rid of guys a year early than a year late.
The league is littered with vets who continue playing at a higher level relative to younger players. If Higbee wants to play I don’t doubt he will continue to be such a player. You are overlooking everything he does to a higher standard than most

You might be right but he will be tough to replace on offense which is probably more important. I don’t completely disagree with these points so time will tell. Anyway, those type of decisions can be made preseason based on whether he secures a spot. A new contract wouldn’t preclude us going younger if he has indeed declined (but I don’t see too much evidence beyond number of receptions which is partly because they are sharing them around 4 TEs to great effect). For example, his chip block on the Williams TD against Seattle was fantastic and the reason we scored

We will just have to agree to disagree no how tough it would be to replace him.

I've already put in my order for a Landman jersey.... Relieved we signed him.

I was worried that we would have to shed a draft pick on a MLB next year. Now we can look for a stud offensive lineman.

He isn't staying on the field. He isn't getting the most reps when he is available. They are not going to dump Parkinson and resign him. They need cap space to sign all the younger talent on the team. This is how the league works.

I think Higbee probably could see the handwriting on the wall when the Rams used their 1st pick in this past draft on Ferguson. Also, Parkinson and Davis Allen have been playing well.

We were 4 deep before he went down. He's already replaced. Have you seen Parks production lately? It looks like Stafford is pretty comfortable with him and Allen now and Ferg is coming along.

I get it. It's sad when longtime contributors get old, but this is the way of life.

I love Higbee.. But this group of TEs is thriving and young. Davis Allen has REALLY come into his own.. and Parkinson is playing like the guy they thought he was when they signed him. Ferg has a ton of potential and gets the attention of defenses.. but needs to keep growing.

Higbee, in all likelihood, won't be back.

Great Move as once again Les is More!
I've been thinking more about how good our entire management team is. Going back to Georgia... then Chip. Jay Zygmunt, Bill Devaney.

Our current management team:
Demoff
Snead
McVay

I just think the world of these guys and there can be little doubt that they are a very effective management team!!

Just a powerhouse organization with people not concerned about who's getting the credit or whatever... It's a joy to watch.

Compare us to Dallas, where the fans have zero hope because of their management team.

Well.. as much as I hate the Cowboys... just when we thought they were dead...

If there is one team I do not want the Rams facing in the playoffs... it's the Cowboys. Q Williams is an absolute destroyer and will kill Shelton. Pickens and Lamb are devastating.

They may be turning it around.

We will destroy the Cowboys....

The Eagles coach blew that game.... The Eagles went into that "McVay we already won the game offense" and sat on the ball like an old hen in the 2nd half.

Cowgirls are the one team I'd love to play in the Playoffs. They suck
