This is a really good contract imo. Essentially only a two year contract that can be gotten out of if necessary after that. As mentioned Kyren's biggest assets is ability to get touchdowns and protecting the QB. Good to know we'll have that for Stafford's time left here at least.

Nice contract for both sides but did we miss an opportunity last year? We have Kyren signed for the next 4 seasons counting this year. Between 2025-2028 he will be paid (if he plays out the contract) a total of $38.4M. Derrick Henry will paid $40.9M. I really like Kyren, but for almost the same amount we could have had Henry? We currently have over $22M in cap space, it possibly could have been done. Imagine an offense with Staff, Adams, Nacua, and Henry? I think we would actually be the Super Bowl favorites this year with him. Maybe Kyren puts up 1,500 yds and 20 TDs this year with zero fumbles or maybe Corum or Hunter replace him as the starter by mid-season. Oh well, it was just a thought.

Generaly nobody extends a player going into their 3rd season when they are on a 4 year rookie contract.

Sure, why not?
But, there are always those.. "shoulda signed that guy" scenarios, imo.

I stand back and look at this roster... ESPECIALLY after what it took to win a Super Bowl.. and I'm very impressed. There's also so much flexibility moving forward to create a really special run.

We'll see!
