oh.... mkay. I'm sure he said it on the show to get some feels, but.... isn't your biggest goal with being an athlete, um, being an athlete? making the playoffs? maybe gettin' a ring??
As I've said about TGII, you look at a player's socials & you can tell if they love football or not. Because there's football in their socials. Or workout vids, etc. TGII, it was obvious he was "bored with scoring TD's" (his words). Is Kobie already bored with football? I know athletes are so much more than just football players, they're people, they have lives too, etc. and I applaud that, and it's obvious how much he loves music. So I'm not trying to dog the guy -- he's already an incredible football player -- but it's starting to seem like he's more interested in costumes than trophies, and that can grow into something that can affect the whole locker room. Who else wants to jump off the platform that being an NFL player gives them?

You're really reaching to make something up when there's nothing there just because a player has a hobby not football related. He seems like an extremely down to earth, mature individual who is doing feel good stuff in his personal time instead of doing hookers and blow and driving 120 through metro areas. I love Kobie, will be a leader on this defense for a while.

As for TG, yeah football may not have been his passion... who knows. I imagine some players who breath football all day long would like to disconnect from it outside of that life. Even if TG hated football does it matter? He performed at hall of fame levels until his body couldn't anymore.

You may or may not tell anything by a players socials.
They may just like building their social followership.
Is a fighter going to gain more followers posting "intense" training footage and smack talk or posting his hobby of cooking or gardening?
Social media is largely phony and this applies to players as well.
Who knows?

I think it's great too -- amazing, in fact! he nailed this song -- but guys... aren't you just a *little* concerned here?
Kobie Turner is 1st and foremost a starting DT for the Los Angeles Rams. If he can't say that, then why is he on the team?
I'm *hoping* he just said this for the feels. But please, read this statement s l o w l y :
“My biggest goal with being an athlete is to be able to show we’re so much more than just athletes.”
He's right -- NFL players ARE so much more than athletes, they're human beings -- but these reality shows take a LOT of time to produce, rehearse, practice, etc. so this isn't "just a personal hobby" for him, like cooking, gardening, etc., things you can do in your *spare* time. I can drop the spatula any time my coach calls & says he wants to go over something. Even music, I can drop my guitar & pick up a playbook whenever I want to. But I CANNOT back out of a major commitment to appear on a heavily-produced network show like the masked singer -- this is NOT just spending some time on a personal hobby. Think about all the work & time he had to put in to making this appearance -- just getting him fitted to that "Goo" costume took time out of his schedule somewhere.
I know, maybe he worked it out with his coaches, but you have a game like the crap show our D-line just had with the Eagles, then this comes out?
"Imagine getting upset over this" -- I sure am, @badnews . The only thing that will make me overlook this is if this show was taped in the offseason. Otherwise he has no business doing stuff like this when we're trying to make the playoffs, and yes we still have a chance, but only if everyone on that D-Line stays FOCUSED. If we're gonna make it, we need more "Conductor" and less "Goo".

Honestly, I love that The Conductor joined. I wish he stayed a little longer on; he lasted a while, but he's clearly got pipes. It's always cool to see athletes with passion in other areas.

I too think its great. Football is the man's job, he is allowed to do other things, and singing can be very cathartic. Also, it very much helps the NFL to have players across other media outlets.

Very cool video, and if I see NFL football players doing things like commercials or game shows, I'm happier when it is a ram.

Like, we gotta get Gurley, Faulk, Dickerson, and SJax on Family Feud soon. I wanna see that.

So if we went to your social media, is it filled with photos and posts about your job?

Your best line was when you said: "I know athletes are so much more than just football players, they're people, they have lives too, etc. and I applaud that..."

You really should stop there because having a job as an athlete isn't much different than the jobs you and I have.

It had to have been taped in the offseason or at least the preseason. It wouldn't be during the season because he'd need to okay it with the coaches and front office. I'm pretty sure they all knew.

I do...

I've been watching excerpts ever since T-Pain won the whole thing in the first season. Something about an unknown singer always appealed to me. I've actually had a mini-secret-desire to be on the show as a famous authoress. Something about singing the songs I want to sing...don't even want the fame; I just want to see how I stack up.

Kobie's probably the best athlete to come on the show in terms of pure singing ability, and they've had Barry Zito and Victor Oladipo (both of whom are incredible singers, and Zito plays an absolutely mean guitar). I feel like he should've made it the whole way.
