So you feel he has negative trade value?
Maybe we should start the evaluation this way: if he was a free agent today, what would his market value as a CB be?
Yes, I feel he has negative trade value at his current contract cost, length, and age. If he was cut, obviously, it would be more of a bidding war. I'd still like to have him. Considering that Witherspoon, Durant, Curl, Lake, and Kendrick are all free agents at the end of next season, with D-Will being even older and a potential cut candidate next year if he falls off, it wouldn't hurt to have a veteran contract in place for the younger defensive backs (like Forbes, Kinchens, McCollogh, Wallace, Woods, Lampkin, and whomever we draft/sign this year) to learn from. Personally, though, the only way I take on his contract as is would be with a pick swap, and since Miami has no second and their third is a compensatory one just above ours, that's the only way I'd take on that contract.
But can you imagine if Ramsey influences someone like Forbes, Kinchens, or a potential high draft pick in a positive way? Ramsey was a leader on our defense when we had him. It certainly wouldn't hurt to kick the tires on him.
